This is a word that you should know if you are real estate investing, especially with retirement funds!
If you have an investment property that is owned by your Roth or your 401k, you can use a non recourse loan to buy your next property without jeopardizing your tax advantages. The reason is that the loan is not using any personal guarantee at all, they just look at the value of the collateral and the quality of the deal you are investing in. By doing this, there is no mingling of your personal finances and the retirement account which follows the IRS guidelines and does not create a taxable event.
