Where is my pottery mojo??
Hi everyone, I have not been active on this platform at all sorry, I am finding social media so overwhelming. In fact I am finding life a little overwhelming at the moment. I haven't been able to talk myself into my studio for the last three days, and I have to get back i to it. I have medieval events coming up that I really have to get things done for. I love pottery and feel extremely privileged that it is my full-time, but lately I walk in to my studio look around and just don't know where to go next and end up walking out again. I also have several videos waiting to be edited to go up on my Shoebox Studio Ceramics YT channel, but I can't seem to talk myself into completing them either. It's so frustrating, having so much to do, but feeling unable to do any of it. Do you fellow potters ever get like this, especially those that are full-time potters? How do you get yourselves out of the darkness and back into the joy of pottery? I didn't know you have to select a category for your post, couldn't decide what this should of gone under, Fails, General, Question? I went with Question, I hope that is ok? Much love to you all x

First pieces
I’m curious to know - what was the first piece of pottery you made? This is a picture of mine sitting on the railing of my deck. I found it the other day when I was trying to clear a shelf in my studio. I made it probably 34 years ago. A local college offered a 4 part class with yoga and raku. I’d never done either so everything was a challenge. Luckily we made pinch pots but I was hooked and started taking classes at the local community college. After I finished this piece I filled it with wax to use as a candle. What was your first piece? Do you still have it? If you can, please post a picture of it.

I was thinking about this when I was watching Lindy Lou's video yesterday, she showed her first mug she ever made. I can not remember the first piece I ever made and feel a little sad about that. It would be nice to look at how far I've come.
What a beautiful evening ✨
I just wanted to share a little bit of it with you and maybe bring a small smile to your face. It started off so nicely. Our handball team won one out of two games in Hungary 🙌 Watching that was such a lovely way to begin my evening. After that I went out into the garden. The weather was amazing and the sunset was just so beautiful 🌅 Since a few things I originally wanted to hang up broke, I got a bit creative and just added random little ornaments, mushrooms, and whatever I could find to my wind chime 😄 It looks a bit chaotic but in the best and most fun way. Later I joined @Kendall Carpenter ‘s live chat while she was glazing and it is actually still ongoing 😄 While watching and chatting along, I also made a few small trinket dishes. They are going to be my test pieces for the May challenge 🫶 And then came the moment that really made me laugh. While I was trying to find @Sarah Hallam ‘s video, I ended up watching @Jeanette Stevens ‘s instead, because I couldn’t find it. There I was watching her video while my toe separators were doing their job and taking care of my foot health 😄 The funniest part was that the blue bowl in the video matched my toe separators perfectly. I just had to take a photo 📸 Now I am going to scroll through YouTube a bit more. @Linda Robertson uploaded a new video and I still have a few to catch up on. So I guess I am set for a little while until my eyes start to close 😴 Good night everyone 💛
