The importance of shutting the %^&$ up!
This post from Travis triggered a memory I want to share: https://www.skool.com/ronin-4498/humble-tap?p=b6f5d511 A few years ago a company approached me about licensing a product to use as a bonus in their upcoming product launch. We negotiated a per buyer license agreement of xx dollars. They put together the license agreement (contract) which we both signed. A couple of weeks later the CTO came back to me and said there was a problem with the agreement. The product I sold came with free updates (it was a software tool.) But the license agreement THEY WROTE didn't say anything about free updates. So I get on the phone with the CTO and he explained the problem and how it was an oversight on his part and what would it take to get free updates with the license. Well, I thought for a second... it's not costing me anything extra to give his peeps free updates since I'm already updating the product for my customers. It's just electrons. So I was about to say, "Oh, it's fine I can just throw in updates for free." But then something in the back of lizard brain told me to shut the %^&$ up! So I counted to myself, "one mississippii, two mississippii, three..." I didn't even get to three mississippii when the CTO said, "How about if we amend the contract to include free updates for on extra $$ per license?" I said, "sure that sounds fair." Extra $42,500 from shutting the %^&$ up.
Humble Tap Example
These Uber Personal Humble Taps don't need to take long. This is to a prospective licensee to "rent" IP. I gave him a sample of the program he's considering licensing. He went quiet. I knew he was an avid deer hunter... Easy. Fast. This deal, if done, will likely be a smaller 5 figure deal in the first year. It's worth it to take 60 seconds to me. Rooting For Ya, Travis PS BTW: In about a week, give or take @James Foster and I have got 4 licensing deals going. PPS I'd love to hear about YOUR U.P.H.T.s - Shout em out here!

@Travis Sago Just had a big "aha!" moment! I get two or three licensing deals a year that come to me. Easy easy money. People wanting to license one of my products (i've created 100s of products over the past 15 years in various formats) It's like fish jumping into my boat when I'm not even fishing. Now, what if I put a line or two in the water! Think I would catch more fish?
