March Tracking: Reminder + Rewards
Hey all, Just a reminder we kick off the 2-week March Momentum tracking today. Tomorrow we'll have the 1st sprint session, and by now everyone should be clear on your goal for the next 2 weeks and have your actions ready to complete each day. If you're using the Notion tracker (recommended), you can duplicate it, and share with me for feedback/accountability. My email is kevin@playkstrategy.com For anyone who didn't complete this last month, here's what happened: Last month, everyone used the Impact GPT to create their clients goal and plugged their actions into the tracker. For the 2 weeks in March, you can do the same (recommended if you haven't done this before) or you can do it without the AI this time (if you completed this last month) since you now have a stronger idea of what to focus on/improve from the previous sprint. I'll use the first 30 mins of tomorrow's call @ 2pm to answer any questions or help anyone who is stuck getting things moving. For anyone new joining, click the Calendar tab to find the call and the Zoom link. Remember, those who track these 2 weeks and log your reflections on the Builder Board will be eligible for the end-of-month MasterMind as a reward (Tuesday, March 31st). We'll celebrate your progress, coach you through any bottlenecks, and preview your plans for April. There's also an extra reward I'll reveal at the MasterMind, but it's only for those who actually track and submit their work over these 2 weeks.. As you know by now, I like to reward effort 😉 Hopefully see you at the sprint tomorrow so we can keep your momentum going this month after a big push in February. Any questions, drop them below.

Hey @Kevin Dowling I know I wasn’t there for last week’s session, but I wanted to put my goal here for the next few months. May be you could give me a quick breakdown of what I should do to get closer to this goal during the call tomorrow? Goal: Get 6-8 people signed up for the May cohort of my Job Search Joy program using a method that can sustainably replicate the same results month-after-month without having to DM cold leads as often to achieve it.

My second goal would be: Get 2-4 people signed up for my 3-Day Workshop in April or May (deciding on times) at a founding price of $47. My hope is that I can use workshops like these as a Genially Ambassador to potentially get affiliate income from subscription sales. I plan on also doing this with another company called GameClass should they create an affiliate link for me. These workshops could be a great way to show my skills and get teachers interested in the paid versions of the tools I’d show them how to use.
Update (Finally, Right?)
Hi everyone! I know I haven’t been around much lately, so I wanted to share a quick update on what’s been happening with me. First, my second Job Search Joy cohort started this week and I had two sign-ups, which I’m really excited about! 😊 As I’ve mentioned before, I’ve been building a partnership with a gaming company called Malayla Interactive. When students complete Job Search Joy, they’ll have a chance to interview with the company. I’ve been structuring the cohort to prepare them for that opportunity, including tips and guidance that connect directly to what the studio is looking for. My next cohort will run in May, and Malayla’s founder and I are planning to host a live Q&A / “Get to Know Malayla” session, probably next month. The goal is to introduce people to the studio and show how the program helps candidates prepare for opportunities there. Ideally, I’d love for this program to eventually generate $3,000–$4,000 per month, but I know that will take time—especially while Malayla is still waiting on funding before they can officially hire employees. Because of that, I’ve also created something new called Game of Stories — a 3-day workshop designed to help educators learn how to turn lessons into narrative-driven learning experiences. I’ve already built the full presentation, and I’m hoping to run it once a month as another potential income stream. If you have a few minutes, I’d really appreciate any feedback on the overview video. I’m currently trying to gauge interest and refine how I present the idea. Here’s the video: https://youtu.be/VUFshaQf1Qk Thanks so much for any thoughts you’re willing to share! Oh, and thanks to the time change, I will be attending the next few sprint sessions!

@Kevin Dowling Hey Kevin! Thanks for your replies. So yes, this would be a separate income stream. The idea was to do the first day as free and then charge for days 2 and 3. Get people on board, then encourage them to continue learning how to build out the lesson and interactions. So the best stuff is after day 1. What do you suggest? And what kind of pricing do you think would be good? $97? Each session is an hour. Actually, that's true! I mentioned I'll be doing a workshop March 15th and I created some offers there to help create content on Genially, so I could use those to provide additional help with that platform. I still don't have the link, but I'll try to remember to post it when I do. I've attached a picture of the event. You can also contact Ngozi Unadike if you want to learn more: https://www.linkedin.com/in/ngozi-unadike-119582361/ I understand I could have done the spotlight. I do use it with students, but I didn't think of it for this presentation. Thanks for the reminder! Any other thoughts about how I should go about this? Also, here are slides for the 3-Day Workshop if you want to see what we'll cover: https://gamma.app/docs/Game-of-Stories-54hswflrbarl4vz

@Kevin Dowling Thanks for the tips, Kevin. I’ll try to keep that in mind. I’m getting people to look at the overview video now and hopefully that can help me determine if I can generate interest in it.
Workshop Idea for Educators -- Your Thoughts?
Hi everyone, I wanted to share something new I’m thinking of developing for educators. While much of my work focuses on helping job seekers find and express their voice with clarity and confidence, this new program focuses on a different side of that journey — helping teachers unlock their students’ voices through thoughtful learning design. The idea is a 3-part remote workshop series called Game of Stories, centered on how storytelling, gamification, and intentional AI use can work together to create more meaningful and engaging learning experiences. The goal is to help educators design lessons where students don’t just complete tasks, but build identity alongside a stronger sense of progression in their learning. We’d explore how to: • use storytelling and narrative structure to help students express themselves more clearly • guide students in using AI without losing their own thinking or voice through percentage-based filters • combine tools like ChatGPT, Gamma, and Genially to create cohesive lessons rather than scattered activities • reintroduce joy and motivation through simple game-inspired learning design This is designed to be practical and reflective, giving educators ideas they can use immediately while also helping them think more intentionally about how students grow in confidence and communication over time. I’m currently gauging interest at the moment. If this sounds useful for you or educators in your network, feel free to comment or message me and let me know: • if you’d want to join • if you’d share it with other educators I still have to develop a structured pitch deck, but if you think this would be something teachers would find valuable (or if there's something you think I should add), send me a message!

@Kevin Dowling Hey Kev! I agree. I thought about doing a poll. If I get good feedback, I might think about turning it into a Maven course. The idea was to do 3 1 hr. workshops spread across Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. This came up because I noticed I was creating offers for teachers and it was getting hard to tailor them to each one so I thought a workshop like this could be a great way to consolidate value for the teacher demographic.
Coaching Swap, Anyone?
I have to be honest. It’s been a tough start to the year financially. I’m not consistently making enough to cover my expenses, and I’ve had to take a hard look at what needs to change if this business is going to last. I’m building something I genuinely believe in—coaching, courses, content, systems, a whole little ecosystem—but belief alone doesn’t make it financially sustainable. Guessing my way through funding, grants, and positioning isn’t the move anymore. So I’m asking for help. I’m looking to do a coaching swap with you guys! The format is simple: 60 minutes total 30 minutes you coach me 30 minutes I coach you If it’s a good fit, we can repeat the format. What I’d love support with: Feedback on my business plan (what’s strong vs. what’s still fuzzy) Turning ideas into a clear, compelling slide deck Accountability (because solo founders desperately need mirrors) Feedback on grant submissions (Amber Grant, etc.) Light marketing strategy: where I’m actually a strong fit—and how to say that clearly on my site 👉 If you’re interested in learning or practicing grant writing, this is an especially good opportunity. What I offer in return: Business & website clarity: what you’re really selling, what’s missing, what’s confusing, what could convert better Brand messaging: tightening your positioning so people “get it” fast Gamification & learning design: frameworks, structure, and engagement systems for courses or programs Sound like a match? Let’s do this together. 🤝
Coaching Swap, Anyone?
I had an argument.
With ChatGPT. I know some people might love the new 5.2., but honestly, it’s polishing posts far too much. I shouted at it. HOW DO I STOP YOU DOING THIS? And it gave me an editing prompt. Which I could put into a gpt or just pdf it. Will probably share it as a mini lead magnet. Was wondering if anyone here would like to play with it? Probably removes about 60% of AI and marketing speak from posts, but doesn’t rewrite.

@Rachel Williams Hey Rachel! It’s frustrating to lose that much of yourself when you’re using ChatGPT. I’ve started actually telling it to use only 20% AI when I’m asking it to improve a post. This usually helps with structure and some wording, but doesn’t take away as much of my writing. I don’t do this all the time, but it can be beneficial to just indicate what percentage of your voice and it’s improvements you want when you’re designing content.
