It’s taken six months, use of AI, hard work, dedication, sacrifice and effort, but I’ve finally reached my weight loss goal. I was 117kg (peak heavy), and today I hit (and got under) 77kg. Between March and May, I was facing the prospect of cancer - by middle of May is was blessed to have been given the news I had been given a second chance and all would indeed, be well. I took the opportunity to run with that second chance. And today, almost six months to that calendar day, I’ve finally achieved what set out lose - 40kg/6st 4/88.5lb. That’s the combined weight of my two kids, and 34% of my body. My body and brain feel better, I can dress better (hence finding this community) and now anything feels possible. Look after yourselves, invest in yourselves, and remember that true wealth is health.

Being new to the world of fragrances I decided to try a monthly subscription. After doing extensive research (one google search and about 5 minutes) like a professional man, I decided Sentbird was my choice. They have an extensive selection and a decent monthly subscription (less than some streaming service). I made my choices for the next few months and received my first months order today, BURBERRY Brit for Men. Now since I am new and my “palate” is not yet refined, I can tell you my wife likes it. She said Oooo when she smelled it. I thought it smells like expensive soap, but the more I smell it the more I like it. She told me to wear it to work and get the ladies opinions on Monday. This afternoon my wife and I will be attending the Tulsa Octoberfest. It is one of the largest in the USA. I am wearing my deceased father in law’s tyrolean suit. Since my ancestory is more alpine than his coming from the alpine Germanic speaking part of Switzerland then I feel completely comfortable wearing this traditional garb. (When the temps reach mid 80s today I may eat these words). My son and daughter in law were the pic of the article in the recent Oklahoma magazine. My first trip to Germany was our honeymoon in 1985 staying with my wife’s aunts and uncles. We finally quit bringing steins back after visiting every 36 months of our first 15 years of marriage including living in Europe after my completion of grad school. PROST!
