As a Ronin... If you don't have this problem already, you will have it:-) So many opportunities you need to pick the best partners. This is when you become the CHOOSER. It sounds great, but surprisingly... It's a tougher transition from "pick me" to "chooser". Our Ronin, @Jim Niswonger , is already discovering the doors to the "deal candy store". It's exciting. He also shared something I've heard from many consultants, coaches and service providers... Big ticket = Big Promises = BIG PRESSURE I could see the "relief" on Jim's face as he's starting to experience a way out of the client pressure cooker. We also talked deeply about CRITERIA for picking partners. How not to lose your butt on new partners and a bunch more. Thanks for putting this together! One thing I picked up was a partner needs to have a mission or a unique way of solving a problem. I've overlooked that on my recent outreach and was just focusing on audience size.
Part 2: The 1 Ronin Magic Trick to Rule Them All
[If you didn't respond to Part 1, this won't be nearly as helpful.] Like getting deals the Ronin Way... Getting car dealers to consign their back row cars to me to clean up, drive to the auction and sell was NO PROBLEM! I had my PICK! I had as much inventory as I wanted...with no money upfront. Where it all went to hell in a handbasket was the first few deals I made. I got an old Ford Tempo, we agreed the dealer would get $2,000 and if it sold above $2,000 I'd get to keep the rest. So, I cleaned her up real nice, drove her an hour down to Fort Smith... And ya know what happened? The highest bid was $1,000. I had to return the Tempo to the dealer. After 2 hours of detailing and 2 hours roundtrip of driving. BUT...what saved me from feeling like a deal dunce was... I learned something very valuable. Pickup trucks and Crown Vics were selling like hotcakes. The Crown Vics were selling for $1200 to $1500. So after I returned the Tempo I went and scouted some other dealerships. I found a white Crown Vic in the back row. It was structurally sound on the outside, but was heavily oxidated and a pig stye on the inside. I knew the dealer because we'd already detailed some cars for him. I asked him if the Crown Vic ran? It did. I asked him what he wanted for it. He said he'd take $500 cash. (Ding. Ding.) Then I ran my RFP (Risk-Free Proposal) by him. "If I detailed it out, drove it to the auction and it sold for more than $500, would he be against me keeping the rest? Worst-case scenario you get a clean Crown Vic back. Best case he gets $500." He said, "Let me get ya the keys." Cleaned that pig up. Drove it down to Fort Smith. Sold right away at the auction for $1500. I came out with $1,000 gross for detailing a car and the drive. $1,000 was a lot for me in those days. Now, here's where it gets really interesting. This was a life-changing lesson for me.

I think this is starting to click. So I’m just putting together a deal to repurpose a YouTube channels videos onto TikTok I was a bit stuck with what to do. I’m now thinking I should be reaching out to sellers in the niche and offer them a sweet deal to advertise (Rev share or something similar)
The 1 Ronin Magic Trick to RULE THEM ALL...
One of our magic tricks as Ronin... (And it may be the ONLY one we need.) Is to become "okay" at acquiring, controlling or getting ownership (ACO) of something FAR BELOW IT'S MARKET VALUE. Depending on the market this is INCREDIBLY simpler to do than what the "gen pop" believes. We don't even need to be "masters" at it really. We can just be "okay" at it and write our own checks for life. I used to get car dealerships to give me their "back row" cars on consignment. (RFP - Risk Free Proposal) I'd take them for no money upfront...(ACO) I'd detail them and then take them to an auto auction...(market or parade) If they sold above what the dealer wanted... I paid the dealer and then I got to keep the rest. Sometimes I'd get paid $500 to $1000. My question to you is... If I must get ACO far below the car's market value... ************************************************************************************ QUESTION: What do I NEED to know when negotiating the price the dealer wants? ************************************************************************************ Roll out your answer below Ronin! This is a key lesson! I don't care if you're flipping cars, land, sneakers, buildings or intellectual property...

Great to be here! Definitely need to figure out my 'magic trick' as have definitely been a jack of all trades for a long time. Most recently have helped a course owner move platforms and launch his new offer and also repurposing content for other mediums.
