Happy Memorial Day ❤️🤍💙
Today is a day to remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to this country and the families who carry that loss every day. Their sacrifice deserves reflection, gratitude, and respect. Holidays can also be difficult when you’re building an alcohol-free life. Cookouts, parties, family gatherings, emotions, stress, memories… all of it can feel triggering. So if today feels hard, here’s your reminder:You do not need alcohol to enjoy today, connect with people, relax, or make memories. You are allowed to protect your peace. You are allowed to leave early. You are allowed to say no. You are allowed to choose yourself. Sometimes the strongest thing we can do is stay present for our lives instead of escaping them. If you’re staying alcohol-free today, I’m proud of you. One choice at a time. One holiday at a time. One new memory at a time. 🤍 Drop a 🇺🇸 in the comments if you’re checking in sober today

Life happens…
Hey friends 💛 I’ve been a little quiet lately dealing with family stuff and my husband had a surgery and life needed my full attention for a bit. Thankfully things are settling down, and I’m really grateful to be back here with all of you. One thing this experience reminded me of is how important support, presence, and community really are. Life doesn’t pause while we’re working on ourselves. Stress still happens. Fear still happens. Exhaustion still happens. And in those moments, old coping mechanisms can start whispering again. But this is exactly why we do the work. Not to become perfect. Not to never struggle. But to build a life where we can face hard moments without abandoning ourselves. If you’ve fallen off track lately, this is your reminder: You do not have to start over perfectly. You just have to start again. Today is a fresh start for me too, and I’m excited to get back to posting daily encouragement, tools, mindset shifts, and practical strategies to help you create an alcohol-free life you genuinely enjoy. If you’re new here, welcome 🤍 You’re not broken, and you’re not alone. Drop a comment and tell me: What’s ONE thing you want to improve or focus on this week?

@Theresa Elliott thank you, he is doing much better now! I have those moments too with sugar, I just finished a juice cleanse, mostly veggies, and that helped me get back on track. I think it’s something I do when I get stressed and I don’t notice it initially so I’m definitely trying to be more mindful.

@Cheyenne Rae that is awesome! Thanks for sharing! I’ve currently got 3 cats and 2 dogs, so basically a small zoo, but they’re a lot of fun and make me happy. I know when I quit drinking I realized that I didn’t do anything creative anymore and I started drawing again and actually went outside for walks. It really does feel good to rediscover old hobbies and find new ones!
You’re Not Who You Used to Be Anymore 🧠✨
Even if it doesn’t feel dramatic… even if no one else sees it… You’ve changed. Every time you paused instead of pouring a drink Every time you sat with a feeling instead of escaping it Every time you chose clarity over habit 👉 That’s identity work. The old version of you reacted automatically. The version of you now? You notice. You choose. You interrupt the pattern. That’s not small. That’s everything. And here’s the part most people miss: Growth doesn’t always feel like growth. Sometimes it feels like discomfort, restlessness, or “something is off.” That’s not you going backwards. That’s your brain rewiring. Today’s reminder: You don’t need proof that it’s working. Your effort is the proof. 💬 Check in below: What’s one thing you’ve handled differently lately? You’re not stuck. You’re in the middle of becoming. 💛
