Why Are We Really Here?
A lot of people underestimate how hard it is to help people achieve their dreams. Especially if we're coaching them to level up through acquiring new skills or removing roadblocks. Bottom line: Helping people change their lives is extremely difficult. Why is this important? because I think far too often building a business online has become about marketing, offers, copywriting and closing the deal, and NOT about how to make the best product in the marketplace. We are all encouraged to use the internet to build our dream lives by selling products, but so phew people talk about how do you create an AMAZING product. In fact most of the advice is that you already have everything you need to start a business, they say -- "you just need to help someone a few steps behind you". Which is really only partially true. Being slightly ahead of someone else doesn't really mean you know how to coach them to get to where you are now. It doesn't mean you can't figure it out either, but don't fool yourself that it's going to be easy. You can put material in a course, and you can learn how to sell it. You can even get 100 clients, but that doesn't mean you have a good product. Without a good product that REALLY works you will eventually fail. That early momentum you had, the 5-10 clients you had, that will all go away if you can't eventually develop and improve your product so that it's really really really good. How often have you received a testimonial only to feel deep inside that this person is just doing you a favor? I had lots of those in the beginning, "Yea, Stephen is a great guy, loved working with him" -- this is a testimonial from someone who "likes" you, not someone that really loved your product. People might like you, and they may not regret working with you, but do they really rave to others about your product? So you have to ask yourself why you mostly focus on marketing and closing deals and not on customer success. Sometimes even when we're experts we don't always know what will make our customers successful. But you have to start thinking about it, you have to start taking repeated and sustained actions to improve your product and figure it out.

Huge resonance with this. I'm focusing on the solid, robust, reliable nature of transformations --- while the overpromising & under-delivering with clever marketing has been disappointing to me, on a cultural level. True to my word... I've actually avoided serving customers & focused on going back to get more skills. While that might make less money initially (and maybe it DOES make the market less efficient by taking longer to get going)... but on the other hand, I know whatever I am selling (and working on now) I can always say I actually believe in 100%, and my track record will always have been under-promising, or giving their money back. And so I feel good about hard work I've been putting in, in many areas. _____ But to the contrary, it does seem like there are a lot of major successes who have products that are claimed by many (with evidence) to under-deliver ---- but if one can create a cult-like following or a large enough audience (as quite a few noteworthy creators have), it's possible to gaslight enough of one's followers into making them think they just need one more training, or it's on them that they failed to apparently remain self-sustaining. (Not trying to name names right now... just something I've noticed. 😉) On a cultural level, I'd like to see there become an increased standards within the online education / community / service industries, where both creators / service providers as well as clientele can become more conscious of this... so our markets become more efficient, and everyone can win with as many positive effects & as literal collateral damage as possible. _____ Always appreciate seeing these philosophical / principles-based post from you Stephen. Cheers!
I Feel Scared and Sick to My Stomach 1/4 Of the Time
In case fear or feeling outside your comfort zone holds you back, know that you are not alone. I feel scared, alone, sick, incapable.... at least 1/4 of the time I walk around on this earth with you. Sometimes I want to sulk in that feeling but Ive learned that the faster you can be aware of that feeling and take some action the faster it leaves you. If you don't take action, small fears can become downright terrifying and debilitating. 99% of most fear is imaginary and you’ll see that when you take action. It's ok and normal and just means you're alive. Carry on.

🏆 Skool Games Mental Mindset (how I'm dealing with the feelings)
First, its just the beginning really. So im trying not to get caught up in the outcome of winning the skool games. But it would be cool. I'm just staying focused on trying to build a valueable community for the members. Perspective is key. You know that anxious feeling, that fear of failure? That's life, with the right perspective it can be exciting. You choose. Enjoy the ride! All these feelings pass. Imagine how many other times you felt this way and it passed. I try and to turn these moments into action. Im keeping my todo list small, the plan is simple. To grow your community you need eye balls. Traffic. CONTENT. Even some one on one outreach. And the guts to do it. Ever since I was a young kid a good friend and I would yell out our windows on short drives "live life my friend!" It was silly but the louder we yelled the better it felt. It didnt feel as embarrassing when people looked at you when your friend was joining you. So today I'm your friend. LIVE LIFE MY FRIEND! 💪

Totally get it. And Yoooo NICE icon, by the way. That's perfect for what you're doing :)
😞 It's Not Always Suppose To Feel Good
Yesterday I posted a potential icon for my new community. I thought it was pretty cool. The majority didn't. I have to admit it didn't feel good. And this post isnt really about the logo, I'll be fine 🙂 its just to show you that you're not alone. And it reminded me of countless other videos and posts that I've made on social that made me feel the exact same way. I wanted to delete the poll to be honest. But I didn't. Because that wouldn't have be fair to the many people that took the time to vote and comment on the post. I learned a lot. I think that's the key. The comments were quite insightful. Thank you btw 🙏 You have to understand that more than anything, social media, community, posting, etc... is first and foremost a place to learn, to gain insights. The profits only come after the insights and learnings. You can't get those insights if you don't post it, if you delete everything you post. It's not about winning every time time. Winning comes after losing. So just get those loses over with already so you can win.

@Stephen G. Pope i decided to delete my other comments and mention that historically this could have political implications that likely go against yourideal messaging--- Too much elaboration seemed foolish. But again, very good lesson, I agree about the need to "deal with" market feedback even when it's doesn't feel easy. Great lesson in the importance of ASKING as well!
