Nearly Quit, Vent Incoming
Last night I was really flirting with the idea of quitting Skool. As a father of two boys under 4, husband to preggers wife, and owner of a small relatively new brewery, everyday seems like I don't have a moment to sit down. Building my Skool community has been a fun outlet for me, and was a good use of my time when I was sitting at our taphouse during the dead hours. But it hasn't been exactly encouraging. You see, my business is only 3 years old and we just recently finally got a retail space. In the beer world, wholesale sucks and makes you very little money, especially as a small one man show. Last year we survived off of $18,000 dollars personal income for a family of four. Things are on an upward trajectory now but Im never going to rich, I'm just trying to support my family. Everyone keeps trying to sell me on THEIR programs, Im broke people! My community has seen some growth, I even attract members that seem like perfect fits! Starting or want to start breweries etc. but they rarely post, reply, interact. So far I've had 3 for 3 video calls where no one shows up! My first goal was just to have Skool pay for itself so I don't feel so guilty subscribing to a few communities, but I have yet to make a dime. I got woken up early so I worked on some more content and had some fun so I'm back in for now, but it's just one of those things that sometimes I just think "What the hell am I doing?" Am I just doing this for my own entertainment? It's fun and rewarding when I post something and get some interaction, but I'm not just here to make people read all my bullshit lol. vent over

Do Weekends Even Exist for Entrepreneurs? 🤔
Honest question for entrepreneurs: Do you work on weekends or do you fully switch off? I personally work weekends. I don’t really see a difference between Saturday and Monday. Curious how others here approach it 👇

@Felix Urbanek the 12 hours thing is a joke my friend always says. I have two boys under 4 and a pregnant wife, I pretty much just work when I have to or when I can. No set hours unless I’m scheduled at the taphouse

@Felix Urbanek two years to build the actual brewery, I was a mailman to pay the bills in the meantime, two more years to be in a spot where we have a taproom

Tell me about the moment you almost quit your business. What happened—and why didn’t you? 👇See mine in the comments. 👇I won't ask you to do something I am not willing to do myself. (or just drop a gif to show you have been there.) - I actually love my fails now... I have learned a lot more from my failures than my successes. I am VERY PROUD OF MY FAILURES. - I think we should share & normalize fails... as evidence of trying & keep trying. - Also share so we know we are in good company.

My wife and I started a brewery a few years ago. We have had to do a lot of things ourself, not hiring contractors, figuring out the regulations, taxes etc. I NEVER have almost quit, because this is the plan, but it has been very hard. Our first full year we only paid ourselves 18,000 dollars as a family of 4 and now we have another son on the way. The last month was supposed to be our slowest month and for some reason all these good things have been happening back to back, as though we're really gaining some momentum. Things just don't FEEL like we are struggling anymore, and it feels good. We still aren't making very much money but the business seems to be trending upward quicker than I thought it might and this is supposed to be our slow time of year. Recent hires have freed up some of my time, and I now I have more time to focus working ON the business instead of IN the business. My only stress now is making sure im prepared for the onslaught of summer craziness....oh and the baby arriving in April.
