❓ How are you using Variable Libraries? (If at all!)
Hey community! Are you using the Variable Library in Fabric?! I'm doing some research for a future YouTube video, and it would be great to open up a bit of a discussion around how you're using them so far, considering they are now Generally Available! What use cases are you using them for? Any tips to share about how you set them up? Or perhaps you're using the REST API endpoints for variable libraries for more advanced use cases? Any experience, big or small, would be useful to know about - so please share below! 👇👇👇

Hi again. I guess i will be using variable libraries in the near future for cicd purposes. By now and for a year ago i was using a config notebook setting the dev, test and prod settings for code and data workspaces
Microsoft Fabric DataOps Reference Architecture, plus sample templates
Microsoft have released a new 'reference architecture' for DataOps in Microsoft Fabric - lots of interesting stuff in here. From the GitHub repo: "This sample aims to provide customers with a reference end-to-end (E2E) implementation of DataOps on Microsoft Fabric, covering non-functional aspects such as observability, security, data quality, and testing. It is designed as a reference implementation and should be customized to meet specific customer requirements." Check out the repo here: 👉🔗 https://github.com/Azure-Samples/modern-data-warehouse-dataops/blob/main/e2e_samples/fabric_dataops_sample/README.md

DP-700 Exam
yesterday i took the dp-700 exam. i think it went well but i will obviously get the results later since the exam is still in beta. i used the study guide for dp-700 and saw which topics were covered. Going through that list may be a good foundation. the exam had 63 questions including 2 cases. i had heard that there was some realtime data engineering on the exam so i did a recap of the exercises in microsoft learn around this. but as i said i haven't got the results yet so we will see

@Daisy D hi daisy. Both Are fabric exams so there Are many Areas that are crossing. But dp-600 has focus on the data analyst more dax and Power bi while dp-700 is data engineer related. Dp-700 has no Power bi and dax. While dp-700 has much focus on data pipeline data lakehouse medallion architecture and realtime. There were several questions related to kql streaming data. And of course you had to know some Python coding. Do the learn exercises and Watch will’s videos on dp-700. Wish you all the luck
DP-700 Exam Thoughts
Yesterday, I took the new DP-700 exam (see yesterday's post here) ... here are some of my initial thoughts: - Overall, I really liked the exam, and the content. - It's a thorough test of someone's skills and knowledge in data engineering on the Fabric platform. - It tests your end-to-end knowledge and decision-making ability, especially around how different Fabric services interact with each other into a coherent solution (compared with the DP-600, which I felt was lots of questions from previous certs joined into one) - The required depth of your knowledge of SQL, Python/ PySpark and KQL is higher than DP-600. - There will be less chance to 'blag it' with this exam (i.e. people attempting the exam without practical experience and trying to pass), which is a good thing. If you're completely new to Fabric/ Data Engineering, I would probably not recommend taking the exam in this first voucher cycle, because it would require a LOT of effort on your part, and you still might not gain the required level of experience/ knowledge. With DP-600, it was more possible, DP-700 would be harder. Some topics I would like the DP-700 to cover, but it doesn't (to any real depth): - data quality & code quality (core skill for data engineers in 2025) - trusted workspace access/ managed private endpoints/ service principals - all those things vitally important for data engineers in the real world. From this point, this is my focus: - Preparing the second Live Study Session for the DP-700 Bootcamp in Fabric Dojo - if you want to sign up - now is a good time, because the pricing will be going up at end of January. - Preparing the first video for the YouTube series - hoping to start releasing on YouTube this week! Any questions about DP-700 exam? Let me know, happy to help 👇

Hi. I passed the dp-600 exam in March and took the dp-700 beta 20 dec. The dp-700 result was not given after the exam and must wait until it is GA😳 but i am agree that both exams has much in common. But the dp-700 has real time focus which i remember dp-600 didn’t. I took a recap on learn exercises especially on the real time.
