What do you actually want?
Has anyone here ever thought about what they actually want. Do you envision what you spend your days doing or how you spend your life? how did you work this out. what books or media helped you do this?

@Ewa Dabrowska i relate to your previous comment a lot with regards to uni and getting a job. i want freedom of choice to do anything i want to, no job to rely on. rather to choose my own projects and passions, ie charity, sports coaching personal passion projects

Inconsistency
Hey guys, I joined this community a few days ago because I was feeling motivated at the time, and now that the motivation has faded a bit, I think I wanna ask for some advice on how to flip it into discipline. I downloaded ScreenZen to help with my constant scrolling on insta, and it has substantially brought down my daily use. Apart from that tho, I still struggle with mindless consumption of bs and I realize I don’t even enjoy the slop I’m tangled in. It’s just a means of keeping myself busy. I have productive things I enjoy, but it’s hard to lose myself in them when I have easy rewards at my disposal at all times.

start by going om 2 minute phone free walks, aim to do an hour by the end of the month. Walking is genuinely freedom
Get off screens
Does anyone have a response mechanism to the urge to go on their phone. i.e. when I get the urge to grab my phone, I do this or think this instead

@Cameron Walton I’m fine when being away from the phone is intentional, it’s the 2 minutes between tasks or when you’re waiting for something that’s what I need to cut to make the difference

@Ewa Dabrowska Yeah it might be the solution to not have it on me unless I need it, just feel like i need to be there in case someone messages/calls
Walk and talk
We know that screens and short form content are bad for us by now (hopefully). If you arent in a position where you can spend time talking to real people, I love listening to podcasts, especially when walking. Its a great way to redirect your need for stimulation into something productive. Anyone have any good recommendations? I listened to Bryan Johnson on Modern Wisdom yesterday, it was fantastic

@Brandon Davis do you have any recommendations for identifying how to leverage your personal skills?
