[ME WK 2, PROMPT 1] Without looking at your inventories what's one thing...?
PROMPT: Without looking at your inventories what's one thing you keep thinking about? Last week, in our Meet Yourself on Paper Micro-Experiment, we started on a first pass of the four inventories inside The Big Book of You, v2. We're going to keep diving deeper into them this week. In fact, the assigment this week is to make another pass at the inventories. I know more will come up. BUT... before you do that, what's one thing you keep thinking about from your first pass at the inventories? Is there a memory that has come up? Have you remembered something you loved doing, but haven't done in a long time? Is there just a thought (dare I say dream or wish) you keep thinking about? Drop it in the comments below. I want us to get used to listening to ourselves and paying attention to what we're paying attention to.

Generally, I am skeptical of AI and the unknowns of where it's taking us. For this exercise, I am choosing to look at it as me asking a question and the Universe using the route of AI to answer it. That said, I was reminded by AI that I used to live my life by seasons and cycles, by intuition. I have taken to living above the neck instead of from the heart. I think that is why I feel adrift and I can't stop wondering if I can get back there.

Hello, I'm Jeannie (58) and we are currently living in upstate South Carolina (though I am a NC Blue Ridge Mountain girl through and through). I was a teacher for many years before staying home to homeschool my three kids, the youngest of whom is autistic. He has graduated now and is receiving training and support outside the home. All of a sudden I find myself in the weird predicament of either allowing my elderly parents and grown children to fill up my day with caretaking that they can actually do themselves, or setting boundaries around my own time for the first time ever. My husband, of 35 years, is my biggest supporter in this and so I am taking this step to finally pursue the work I put off years ago because it didnt fit the family plan...art. I am an artist. I can finally call myself that. Now I need a plan to make me and my art my daily focus rather than sliding back into caretaker mode. 💚

@Vonda Laffey thanks, I work with paper, mostly, bookbinding, collage, but incorporate painted pages, sketching, botanicals and birds wherever I can.
[ME Wk 1: Prompt 2] Share An Inventory A-Ha
RECAP: We're on Week #1 of our Meet Yourself on Paper micro-experiment. We're working through Part 1 of Your Big Book of You, v2 - making a first pass through the 4 inventories. Remember - you inventories should be bullet points, fast phrases, quick thoughts. We're not doing any analysis yet - just beginning the process of documenting ourselves. 🔎ASSIGNMENT: Comment below with an inventory A-HA from this week's preliminary inventories. >> Did you remember something about yourself you hadn't thought about in a long time? >> Were you surprised by how many things you could add to your inventories? >> Were you surprised it was challenging to come up with things for your inventories? Next week, we'll begin diving a bit deeper. For now, let working through your inventories be easy. Also - great work using the Community thread. I love seeing your posts and seeing you interact with each other. I know we're building something special here. 🤩

I remembered personal rituals I used to take time for that kept me present and grounded. Looking forward to reinstating some of these in my day. Walking barefoot in the grass, lighting a candle before sitting down to morning coffee, sitting for 5 minutes on my yoga mat before starting a workout.
[ME: Week #1|Prompt #1] Share the first three things on your inventory list.
Welcome to Week #1 of our first [ME] micro-experiment: Meet Yourself on Paper. We're starting the four inventories! Sometimes getting started is the hardest part, so let's keep this simple. Your Big Book of You, v2 should be approached like a grocery list: Bullet points, fast phrases, quick thoughts. The Quick Three: Scan your house, or your phone: What are 3 things you can inventory about yourself? Paste them below to get 'first posts' out of the way. Remember the inventories cover: Skills Interests Experiences and Lessons Dreams and Environment. And, we're simply getting in the habit of noticing ourselves and getting reacquainted with who we are. No need to analyze anything. I've put mine below. Now, your turn.

I am a maker (artist, cook, gardener, diy-er) and surround myself with the work of other makers. I am empathic and often lose myself in what others feel/need. I am a learner, surrounded by piles and piles of books, new types of art supplies, new plants in the garden each spring, travel plans, and hundreds of saved-for-later IG posts. I save more than I get around to, but have big plans to get around to many now!
