✍️Make Your Muse Show Up...
Someone asked Somerset Maugham if he wrote on a schedule or only when struck by inspiration. "I write only when inspiration strikes," he replied. "Fortunately, it strikes me every morning at 9:00 sharp." ~ The Daily Pressfield. Day 46
🎙️ Audio Test 3 - Now With a Backdrop!
In prep for my audiobook recording, after testing the Microphone Isolation Ball, the next/final test was to add in a sound absorbing backdrop... In this case, we tried out a three layer sound absorbing curtain! This is all in an effort to have great high quality recording studio audio for the audiobook version of my #1 Best Selling book, Your Business Growth Playbook! 🎧 You'll want headphones to checkout the audio quality... How we sounding? Does it get any better??? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3JxrkYixeM

Not bad. Two suggestions. 1. Run it through a filter to remove the pops and clicks we all make. (I counter a few even w/o headphones). 2. Use your filters to make it a little warmer. You don't have to go all the way late-night FM talk radio hist, but warm it up a little.

Then you nailed it.
It's Not About Book Marketing Anymore ...
With Authors Empire Workshop right around the corner I'm really tightening my thinking on 'book marketing' and shifting it almost entirely to 'authority building'. You see - book marketing puts the focus on launch plans, social posts, ads, podcast pitches, and short bursts of promotion. And when sales slow down, authors assume they need to “market harder.” And what we have seen in 8.5 years is that it doesn't work for the majority of authors. What does work? When you see your book not as a product you promote, but rather an asset you build upon. That’s what this flywheel represents. Instead of asking, “How do I sell more books?” the better question is, “How does this book strengthen my authority so everything gets easier?” And "What else can I do to build my authority with this book?" It starts with clarifying the entity. Who are you in the market? What do you stand for? What problem do you own? Then you activate that authority by aligning your assets. Your messaging, your platforms, your positioning all need to point in the same direction. Next, you package it. Structure your presence so people understand your expertise quickly and clearly. Then you ignite it. Expand your influence through speaking, media, community, and partnerships. Finally, it compounds. Credibility builds on credibility. Visibility leads to more visibility. Opportunities multiply. That’s the flywheel as we are seeing it now. Book marketing is a push. Authority is a system. The real question is not how you’re promoting your book. It’s whether your book is strengthening your authority. Where are you in this flywheel right now? By the way - the flywheel works the best when you plan for it right from the moment you start thinking about writing a book.

To keep your flywheel spinning, weave in the Japanese Kaizen philosophy.
