What a difference a few hours can make…
Having started posting and reading today, I’m simply blown away here. I’m grateful this community exists. Being from California, I’ve certainly seen and have worn that homeless/super casual/lazy look. Now I’m seeing it everywhere. Kinda like when you buy a red car, all you see are red cars. I’ve found myself checking my appearance out in the mirror before heading out on various errands. Essentially being a little more conscious about how I look. I for sure need a haircut and my shoes need a little cleaning up. Thanks again for having this place and showing a better way to dress.

Welcome! Also living here in CA and know exactly what you mean.
Thursday
Chilly this morning so wore a fleece to work and brought my green blazer for the workday. Kept with green fleece so the statement of the outfit translates both during the commute and at the office.

The pink and green work well together on you. The pocket square makes the whole look pop!
Starting new goals
To improve myself as a young man I has started working out with a coworker. I have done three days so far and it is good. We walk about 2 miles for this first week, trying to work ourselves up to a full 5k by next month. Feeling good so far. Trying to add some push-ups and sit-ups when I have time.

What happened to Nordstrom's shoes?
I walked into a Nordstrom today for the first time in a while and saw I was near the shoe section. Total coincidence, I swear. Well mostly. Ok I wanted to see some shoes, alright? And some other things, but yes, the shoes. I can stop anytime I want, ok? Anyways... ...I start looking around and I see the dreaded "dress sneaker." Ok, whatever, move on, let's find the dress shoes. Ok, these are cemented Cole Haans with rubber soles. So are these. And so are these, or maybe Nordstrom brand? I keep looking, and praise be eventually I find the Magnannis--off on the very edge of the shoe section on what looks like a reject table. And it's ONLY Magnannis with all rubber soles! I eventually asked someone working there and confirm what I had already figured out: Nordstrom no longer sells ANY shoes with leather soles! This was where I first discovered Allen Edmonds and Salvatore Ferragamo, etc., and the concept that there was something better than cemented rubber soles. And now they've done away with them. I went next door to Macy's, and it just got depressing. Their shoe section was self-serve boxes on shelves like at Target, and the best on offer was a handful of Johnston & Murphy. I didn't look any closer, and I have a couple pair of J&M myself (vintage) so who knows, but given that the store was nothing but mediocre menswear as far as the eye could see, I doubt there were any hidden gems hiding there.

I'm not particularly drawn to dress shoes, so I may be part of the problem, but it's still sad to hear this.
Still in warehouse training
Still in a hot warehouse for training today, so more PPE. Going with a textured T shirt today with the jeans and boots. Make it a good day..

Super combination. Shirt looks great tucked in! Gives your jeans and belt the attention they deserve and helps define body structure.
