Health Coach vs Patient Advocate
Iā€™m seriously struggling with defining what I should be doing. Iā€™m a registered nurse with lots of case management and leadership experience but am a believer of holistic health and lifestyle medicine practices and principles. My goal is to be able to bridge the gap between these two concepts of ā€œhealthā€ for people so they have more autonomy and are empowered to make their own health choices versus relying on what their doctor tells them what to do. In listening to Alex Hormozis $100M Offers book (at least 3 times now and watching his free online courses) I feel like I need to focus my offer more on the patient advocate side so I can meet clients where they are. THEN, I can start building that bridge with them to a more holistic wellness lifestyle. I feel like Iā€™ve been on the other side of the bridge (lifestyle coach) telling people to jump and Iā€™ll catch them as my ā€œbridging the gapā€ model. Itā€™s not working obviously. šŸ™„ So now Iā€™m considering changing my offer to a more tailored and 1:1 model (Higher Value:Higher Cost) but am not sure what that will look like as an ā€œofferā€. Ughā€¦.šŸ˜© Not to mention, how am I supposed to assess if there is even a market that is WILLING to pay for that kind of service.

@Dan Harrison Honestly, Iā€™m kinda depleted right now. I donā€™t think people lay awake at all thinking about their chronic illnesses. Even when they are facing amputation and lifelong commitment to being plugged to a machine for dialysis. It certainly keeps me awake at night knowing that people donā€™t prioritize their health and that they get sicker and sicker and become more and more dependent on their families. Becoming burdens and decreasing the entire vibe of families because one person didnā€™t take the high blood pressure or diabetes seriously and end up with strokes and kidney failure. I guess I can focus on that soul sucking grim reality that most people rather pretend isnā€™t that bad because who wants to admit that they donā€™t want to take care of their 50-60 year old parent that had a stroke and now uses a walker or needs help getting dressed and has doctors appointments that they need someone to take them to and manage their care. Itā€™s like that bridge gap that people arenā€™t aware of. They also arenā€™t aware of the extreme burden and disability that comes with not managing their health. Sorry for my rant and super bummer reality check.

@Dan Harrison Iā€™m totally stuck in the Gap. My skool is called ā€œGood Rootsā€. Treating root causes of illnesses with holistic wellness- establishing ā€œgood rootsā€ šŸ™‚

Hello everyone, I go by LE #1 - Who are you, where are you from and who do you work with? Im a registered nurse and holistic wellness coach. Im from the suburbs of Portland, Oregon and also live in American Samoa part time. 3-4 month rotations. Im still developing "who I work with", but its mostly middle age women who aren't officially in the chronic illness phase of life and are clawing their way as far away from getting there as possible. Im considering iterating my niche or at least looking at them differently and providing patient advocacy services to bridge the gap between the Western medicine healthcare system to a more empowered holistic lifestyle. #2 - What do you want to get out of being in this community? I want to be with like minded and passionate entrepreneurs that understand the need to empower people to own their own health journey. I'd like to get some insight on what works for some people and be able to provide my own knowledge and experience to the conversations. #3 - For fun what do you like to do? I like to spend time with my dogs or be outside in my yard. Anything outside is fun for me. I've been finding it more and more difficult to be ok with being outside when I know I have so much more to do here on the computer for my healthcare program. #4 - Drop a photo of your office space or where you like to do work from. (coming soon) Need to take a pic on phone and will edit in.

Sure they work for themselves... but often they work harder and for less money than a JOB.
