Announcement: New Mentor For VIP!!!

He's an emmy nominated engineer who is also a student in The Reverse Engineer program with graduated with our official certification. Joseph is super talented and you all are going to love him! Bio: Joseph Berg is an accomplished audio engineer and lifelong musician who has worked as the mixing engineer on multiple Emmy-nominated film and television projects, including HBO’s Stax: Soulsville USA, which received two Primetime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series and Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Nonfiction Program and went on to win the 85th Annual Peabody Award for Best Documentary. In addition to his mixing work, Joseph has served as a mastering engineer on records with critically acclaimed musicians and engineers, including Grammy Award-winning engineer Mack Major (PJ Morton, Tank and the Bangas, The Revivalists), platinum-selling engineer Mike Napolitano, platinum-selling musician and producer Jimbo Mathis of Squirrel Nut Zippers, and legendary blues harmonica player Charlie Musselwhite, known for collaborations with Tom Waits, Muddy Waters, and Eddie Vedder, as well as multiple Grammy nominations and induction into the Blues Hall of Fame. Mastering a good mix
I'm interested to know what a mastering engineer would typically do if they are working with a client that is providing (effectively) mastered mixes. How does the mastering engineer typically add value in that relationship/engagement. - Are they offering suggestions on the mix? - Are they saying "Good Job" and sending an invoice? - Are they providing a set of alternatives, including the appropriately levelled mix for the Artist's reference? - Are they doing something else? Thanks :)

@Lee Tagg thanks brother. I did understand the question. Just wanted to throw in that I could master a song or 2. But in to my understanding it’s pretty much making sure that the mix is polish by using the tools needed. EQ, dynamic control, maybe some saturation. Really depends on genre too and how good the mix is. At least that is my understanding. I’m still learning lol.

@Harry Kopy it’s a mental thing more than anything. Not complaining. Just saying reading Fender my mind associated it with guitars and guitar equipment. But as long as they keep making it it better that’s what really counts.

OLLO X1's Just Came Today
Setting up things and trying to get used to them. Definitely more mid forward than my Sennheiser 600 HD's does anybody have any helpful setting tips they'd like to share?? What are your preferences when it comes to dialing in the software??
