What is TRE mentoring like?
In TRE, how does the mentoring work? Is it similar to how it is handled in VIP? Who are the mentors in TRE?

@Ari Tiainen mentor calls in TRE have some different formats. Some calls are booked time slots for feedback specifically. You book a specific time to get feedback on homework or your own songs. Most of the calls are actually more "open format" like the VIP call was. People just hop on a call and say they need time and the Mentor unmutes them, and they can spend as much time as is needed (no real time limit) without interruption. We can share DAWs screens if we need, jump into sessions, explore deeper questions, and really break things down. Some of those calls are topic specific. Like mixing specific calls with Kevin, production specific calls with Chris, I even do a call that's just all about goals and mindsets. Other calls are open "office hours" where you can just get on and ask about any topic. In TRE there are calls going 6-8 hours per day, every day and even sometimes of Saturdays. So there are mentors available whenever you need them and you can have as much time as you need. By popular demand the calls are also all open to everyone in TRE to just join and listen as well. So even if you don't have a question, you can listen and learn from the questions of others. And it's all for life. Humbly, there is nothing like it anywhere.

@Marcello Lioy yeah, weird people out there. It's not too common because we are SUPER on top of it, but unfortunate that it happens at all.

@Brian M just report them, they will be gone usually Ina matter of minutes.
New Years Solutions.
This is the year we fight back. We fight. We battle our demons. Maybe we battle the part of us that scrolls social media instead of making music. Maybe we battle the part of us that overthinks everything. Maybe we battle the voice that says we can’t. Maybe we battle the distractions that pull us away from our goals. Maybe we battle the feeling that we don’t belong. Maybe we fight the voice that always says, “Maybe tomorrow.” And all of us are fighting against a soulless, artificial world. The world is in a strange place right now. It needs your voice. It needs your art. It needs your passion. There are people out there who need to be inspired, and you’re the only one who can do it. Or maybe you’re an engineer. There are artists who need you to help bring their voice to life. And you’re the one who can do it. This is the year we fight back.
Limiting question
In the Mastering 101 video on limiting. he set the ceiling at -1.0db which is different I think from the mixing intensive setting the ceiling at -0.2 to -0.3db. That is not the question. Question is when using the limiter in the mix or the master, do you set the threshold at 0db or force the limiter to add clipping or compression? When raising the gain to -9RMS it really does make a difference.

@Nathan Hershfeld no, regardless of what Rob does or any other video. The latest teaching is the apply a limiter with a ceiling between -.1 and -.3 and then bring your limiter gin up until it's around - 9 short term lufs. Then assess what happens audibly. You don't need to worry about gain reduction or anything else.

@Nathan Hershfeld That is true. Those lessons are a bit older and don't include the Foundations Method.
