Had I known about reference tracks a long time ago, there's no telling where I'd be now...
Vocal Microphone Choices
How does one go about figuring out what vocal mic works best for their voice in a home studio? There are so many options, and so many different things to listen for. Does anyone use the Gauge Mic Locker that emulates 8 different mics? And what physical mic would you sing into (sm 57 for instance) to get the best results from the Mic Locker to actually come close to one of their emulations, if that is indeed a viable option?

@Rick Kelly Did you ever consider releasing it as a single? And then maybe a second single, before releasing it/them on an album? Sometimes you can get a head of steam going before the big release...

@Rick Kelly I don't recall where I got the idea from, but I do recall them suggesting that you release one song a month. They actually suggested releasing a bunch of singles as they seem to get more listens overall than an album. In my mind I thought...wouldn't it be funny to release all the songs that you planned to put on the album, and then release the album as a Greatest Hits LP...though I thought of that in jest, the more I thought about it, the better I liked the idea. Of course a lot depends on how you plan on marketing your babies etc. Just giving you more to think about...
Codec not supported in Studio One (Fender Studio Pro)
@Nick Allegro Any idea why I get the "codec not supported" in Studio One when I try and add a video (.mp4 or .mov) file, and how to solve it?

Back to an older topic, and I have a new project where I need to sync some music into a video. Thankfully, this video worked without a hitch. There must've been some sort of glitch with the previous video. Thanks for all the suggestions guys. Unfortunately that first project had a quick turn around and I was never able to get past that Codec issue. Hopefully it was just that one time deal.

@Nick Allegro Well I'm glad it's not just me. I've had a few inopportune freezes that happened before saving my work...usually when I have a lot of instrument programs running at the same time. Tho I'm pretty sure other DAW's have their own glitches as well...
