Well, my birthday is Saturday, and I originally didn't have anything planned, but then my really good friend told me that Nordstrom's is having one of their fashion shows as part of their Month of Beauty program. Lot's of store discounts, showcases, tips, presenters, raffles. it's going to be a blast. If you're in Austin or the surrounding area, I'm going to go from 9 to about 11am or so to see what they have and maybe take advantage of the sale. I have yet to spend my birthday perfume budget, so I may try to pick up something nice if they have a good discount. Hit me up if you're in the area and planning to attend. They're doing a similar one at the Nordstrom's in the Domain Friday night, but I have a wedding and can't make that one.

I wanted to share this in case any of you have ever been interested in Blind Barber fragrances. They started with a unique concept. a barbershop with a hidden bar tucked away behind the last chair. Eventually, they launched a grooming line, which now includes fragrances. Ulta currently has them on sale for 50% off. They weren’t overly expensive at $98 for 50 ml, but at $49, they’re a steal. I have two of them Shinjuku Mood and Speakeasy. Shinjuku is my favorite, it’s a tea fragrance with a sweet burst of black currant in the opening, drying down to a smooth sandalwood. It fresh and very relaxing fragrance. At this price it’s worth giving them a try.

Overall, this fragrance proves that sophistication does not always require complexity. Its beautifully composed blend of citrus, herbs, greenery, and subtle earthiness delivers one of the finest clean scent profiles I have experienced. The only thing holding it back is performance—give me greater projection and longevity, and this would easily become a perfect score.
