SOTD: Eros edt by Versace 25/05/2026
Released in 2012, Eros remains one of the most successful men's fragrances of the 21st century. It was created by master perfumer Aurélien Guichard with the goal of capturing Greek mythology through a bold, Mediterranean lens. It belongs to the Aromatic Fougere family. If you had to describe it in one word, it would be Loud. This is not a fragrance for those seeking a subtle skin scent. It was a hugely popular clubbing scent back in the day, but during this time my clubbing days had been traded for raising a young family, so I missed out all the hype. The opening is an aggressive blast of synthetic freshness, with Mint giving the signature cooling icy blast & Italian Lemon Zest with asharp, citrusy brightness, it finishes up with a green apple & a crisp, fruity sweetness. At the core or the fragrance, Tonka bean adds a creamy, almond ike sweetness. Whilst Ambroxan takes care of that slightly metallic, blue freshness. The addition of Geranium flower adds a subtle floral touch that bridges the gap between the fresh top & warm base. The drydown takes a completely different turn, it's a mix or rich, earthy & Wood notes. Madagascar Vanilla continues the sweet theme with a combo of Atlas & Virginian Cedar for that shift to a woody structure. All grounded with the earthy depth thanks to the addition of Vetiver & Oakmoss. If you have a newer bottle, post-2020, you might notice it feels slightly more citrus-forward than older batches. This is due to minor reformulations to meet updated ingredient regulations, though the core DNA remains somewhat the same. Despite common reviews giving it great performance, it only goes for about 4hrs on my skin, but then again citrus never really works well for me. It project ok for the first 90m then fades away. This kinda put me off exploring the line any further with the exception of Najim which although a beautiful scent, was also a letdown in the performance dept. However it is a rather popular fragrance to this day. My Rating 7/10

I sprayed it on once and immediately got nauseated. It smells nice for a fleeting moment and then gets cloying instantly. I know many love it but its not for me.

of Mr. Creed, I’m wearing the closet thing I have to him today. I get Smokey out of this and I like it (not the main note). I’m assuming that’s not in the OG. R.I.P.

Sad & Challenging Times Ahead / Prada L’Homme
One of my greatest fears has come true. My Dad was diagnosed with cancer stage 3 with metastasis a month ago. Perfect blood works, no symptoms, until something starts to feel a bit off. Today is the third time in a week we are at the ER, he can’t eat anything, his body is rejecting everything without treatment yet (medical bureaucracy sucks). Due to doctors we know, we were able to get my Dad admitted to the hospital by noon today, but no room was assigned to him until now 10pm. So I will spend the night at the hospital with him. We are resting on our Lord’s love, grace, mercy, and promises. He is our strength and peace. Prayers are very appreciated. All of that being said, I picked Prada L’Homme for the night since I think is perfect for the occasion. A subtle, inoffensive, mass appealing and long lasting scent. Have a good night you all.

Sorry to hear about your father. My mom’s services are tomorrow. We lost her last week after a fall followed by a stroke. I hope your father has a positive diagnosis and treatment is successful. God bless
SOTD:  Eau Sauvage edt by Dior 21/05/2026
Eau Sauvage is one of the most legendary, timeless citrus-aromatic chypre fragrances, I've come across. Created as Dior’s very first fragrance for men way back in 1966 by master perfumer Edmond Roudnitska. Said to have revolutionised men’s perfumery by blending bright freshness with floral elegance, thus breaking conventions of the era . It is refined, clean & effortlessly sophisticated. This is the definition of a classic, the fact that it is still around speaks volumes. Fun story behind the name, When the fragrance was being developed in the mid-1960s, perfumer Edmond Roudnitska presented early versions of the scent to Christian Dior. Dior was said to have loved the fresh, bold character of the perfume, but hadn’t settled on a name yet. One day, while testing it, he exclaimed in French “Quel eau… sauvage !” Which loosely translates to “What a… wild/untamed scent!” The phrase stuck instantly & they decided to keep it. It opens with a sparkling burst of bergamot, lemon, basil, rosemary, and a hint of cumin. It's sharp, zesty & invigorating, instantly fresh and alive. Within an hour, this softens into an elegant heart, with jasmine, rose, coriander & orris root, plus hedione, which brings a luminous, smooth, almost powdery floral softness that feels gentle yet distinctly masculine. As it settles, the base emerges with notes of oakmoss, vetiver, sandalwood, musk & amber. It's earthy, woody, slightly mossy, warm, yet dry, creating a refined, grounded finish that stays close to the skin yet clean. Performance is solid for an EDT: it lasts 6 hours on skin, longer on fabric, with a moderate projection thats noticeable & pleasant within arm’s length for the first 2 hours, before becoming a soft, elegant skin scent. It shines brightest in spring/summer, ideal for daytime wear, office, business meetings, formal events, or smart casual occasions, never loud, always appropriate. This is probably one of the most versatile, refined & respected fragrances ever made. My Rating: 8/10
