FitCheck Resume Powered By A.I
Hi everyone, This is my first time posting, please let me know if I have broken any rules that I haven't heard of. My last date for my current role at Telstra (Australian Telecommunication Company) is on the 29th of June 2026. Meanwhile battling with looking for jobs/new roles, I have built an app, powered by AI (claude). It called FitCheck. Summary of what it does An AI tool (Claude-powered) that searches Adzuna, LinkedIn & APSJobs, matches resumes to job descriptions, tailors applications, writes cover letters, and generates interview prep. This is a community that I do trust to provide real feedback on how my app is actually doing. Be brutal, be honest, give me ideas, I am not selling this (original intention). I am making this accessible to people who are looking for jobs like myself. All tools I use to build this are free apart from Claude subscription. here is the link: https://fitcheck-08kk.onrender.com/

@Nick Prescott Hello there, and thank you for providing such constructive feedback. Originally, I was planning on selling this as a once off fee hence you see the "try for free' button. The design was made for desktop and not mobile. I will mark this as an improvement. The FAQ section will now include Haiku for reading the resume, Sonnet for doing the rest of the heavy lifting. e.g. Interview Prep Render has a cold start - I can fix this with another app that can assist with keeping the app up 24/7. Will wait for my claude session to restart and continue with the improvements above. Appreciate your honest feedback here.
I should have shared this win! Claude Code Access...
I was sharing our community with our senior developer/director and telling him that what weโ€™re doing here is going to change how we structure things in the company and create better results using Claude Code. Iโ€™m currently part of the lead team developing the companyโ€™s AI assistant model with multiple structured agents and layered analysis systems designed to support precise sales and marketing execution. I told him that I couldnโ€™t really afford an enterprise-level account for Claude, so I havenโ€™t been able to fully test everything Iโ€™ve been learning here as a VIP member. He spoke with the higher-ups and secured a 5-seat plan for me so I can continue applying what Iโ€™ve been learning, help the business grow in the future, and train the team using @Jake Van Clief notes...

only if my company is not so called "budget tight", i would have been able to learn and contribute more. however, I am on here now, learning from the best.

@Jerome Anasco thats the company need to work for. My company only gives me access to learning portals like Udemy, DataCamp but not allowing you to use the real tools like AWS Glue Crawler to practice. That defeats the purpose.
Who's here? Drop your intro.
Tell us three things: 1. What you do (job, industry, student, career-changer, whatever) 2. What brought you to Clief Notes 3. One thing you're trying to figure out right now related to computing or AI I'll respond to every single one. And read each other's intros too because the person who's stuck on the same problem as you might already be in this thread. I'll go first I am Jake, I have been working in tech for 15 Years, building with Generative AI for 3 Years straight now! Excited to teach and learn! That's it. Simple, scannable, gives you data on who's joining and what they need, and keeps the feed clear for content that retains people past week one.

Tell us three things: 1. Ex-Telstra Data Engineering (Recommendation Campaign build) 2. Facebook Reels 3. How to become an A.I Expert that my company regret (downsizing because they think A.I can do my work better.)

@Jake Van Clief Hi Jake, thanks for asking. I am still learning on how to use Claude. I wasted so much credit before I came across your teaching. I am beginning to learn it again from scratch here. I built an app called Fitcheck. It checks your resume against a job description. Rates this out of 10. Then proceed to help you rewrite your resume to pass ATS and have a better match against the Job Description. E.g before your score was 6.2, after your score 8.6. It allows users to choose up to 3 resumes to compare and tailor. In the end a user can download the tailor resume and use it to apply for jobs. What on the pipeline is Cover Letter, Interview Prep and Salary Negotiation. I wasted too much credit on Claude so I will learn from you first before continuing with my project. :). I am not promoting so don't ban me :D

Ohh i love the design. True Northstar.๐Ÿ˜
๐Ÿงช Take this 2-minute survey.
A friend of ours @Joseph Fioramonti built a tool called Constellations (If you have a watch or attended the first ever afternoon tea session. You'll know who I'm talking about). It measures something most people and most companies get wrong: the gap between what you think you respond to and what you actually respond to. Take it here ๐Ÿ‘‡(also I am NOT getting paid for this and this is not some sponsored thing. Joe does really cool work) https://gen.constellations.app/constellations/survey/d269cab5-coca-cola/skool ๐Ÿ“‹ How it works: You'll see a grid of Coca-Cola images across two pages. Drag the green (+) dots to the images that make you want a Coke right now. Drag the red (-) dots to the ones that don't. Hit submit. That's it. ๐Ÿง  Why this matters: Every day we interact with systems that run on words. Search engines, AI tools, prompts, interfaces. The words we use are becoming instructions. They're becoming code. But here's the problem. If someone asks you "what kind of marketing works on you?" you'll give an answer. And that answer will be mostly wrong. Because desire and language live in different places. You feel a response to an image before you can explain it. You scroll past something or stop on something before your brain catches up with a reason. Constellations measures that gap. The space between what you say you want and what you actually respond to. This is the same problem companies spend millions trying to solve. It's the same problem you'll run into when you build anything that depends on understanding what people actually care about. And it's the kind of thinking that separates people who build things that work from people who build things that look right on paper. Take the survey. @Joseph Fioramonti will compile the results And provide a report shortly! He is an expert in branding and psychology and can come up with some really amazing reports.
