How to Choose the Right Product Type Based on Your Problem-Solving Style
Everywhere you look, business advice says: “Build a course—it scales!” “Start a membership—it’s predictable!” “Do group coaching—it’s leveraged!” But here’s the problem: different product types require completely different problem-solving personalities. If you're still the main person serving clients in your business and you pick one that doesn’t fit how you naturally solve problems, you’ll feel stuck, drained, or ready to quit. The job of every entrepreneur is to solve problems for clients. But the way you solve problems has a direct impact on which products you’ll actually enjoy delivering long-term. And when you align the right product type with your natural problem-solving style, you can help your clients get where they want to go faster, easier, and more successfully — while keeping your business sustainable. Here are five problem-solving personalities (with examples of what fits them best): 1. The Architect - Loves building systems and creating solutions people can use on their own. - Energized by designing resources that run without constant involvement. - Best fits: Courses, templates, digital products. 2. The Fixer - Loves diving into complex, unique challenges. - Energized by solving hard problems in partnership with a client. - Best fits: High-ticket consulting, VIP intensives, custom services. 3. The Teacher - Loves breaking concepts down and watching lightbulbs go off. - Energized by live interaction and feedback from learners. - Best fits: Workshops, trainings, group programs. 4. The Craftsman - Loves refining one proven method and delivering it with excellence. - Energized by repetition that improves results over time. - Best fits: Productized services, standardized packages. 5. The Host - Loves creating spaces where people connect and grow together. - Energized by building communities and relationships. - Best fits: Memberships, masterminds, ongoing group coaching. None of these approaches is “better.” They’re just different paths to building a sustainable business.

I'm between the Architect and The Teacher...I often find myself actually teaching during my individual sessions and running out of time, instead of focusing on just answering the colsuntant's questions or concerns.

@Christina Hooper Definitely a teacher then lol
Hello everyone!
Hi, it's Davina here. I'm from Argentina and I'm looking for new ways to approach entrepreneurship to really take it to a whole new level. I have a small holistic therapies space where I receive consultants from different places, and I'm looking into expanding globally through individual sessions, webinars and classes. What I have is adaptability, what I want is to expand and grow my knowledge and financial success, what I need is confidence and to find the most efficient way to grow my business.

@Christina Hooper Hi Christina, thanks a lot. My clients are usually mouth to mouth because I still haven't launched any big marketing campaign. They're usually from my homecountry but I'm looking to expand in the rest Latin America, the US and Europe. They're usually women in their 20-40's looking for emotional support and spiritual guidance.

@Christina Hooper Great questions!
Hi! I’m Christina (but most people call me “Blue”)
I’ll jump in 🩵 I HAVE: 4 businesses that work together as an ecosystem for entrepreneurs (from startup to scale-up): - The Neuro-Spicy Academy – group coaching + accountability for designing businesses that actually work for your brain (soon to be rebranded to The BLUEprint Business Lab) - FableForge – a SaaS + tech partner platform for coaches/consultants who want to empower their clients with tech that aligns with their programs without having to become HighLevel resellers themselves - Sparkitive – my agency, currently being retooled into a fractional project management company that'll relaunch in 2026 - Christina Hooper (Consulting) – my personal consultancy where I focus on business design I WANT: - To help entrepreneurs find clarity, confidence, and real success in ways that are sustainable - To build our family compound, create more time for travel, and expand my impact - To keep growing my personal brand so all parts of my ecosystem thrive together I NEED: Honestly, my biggest hurdle right now is “people-ing” 🤣. I've been in business 18+ years, but I learned a couple years ago I have ADHD and Autism and pulled back a LOT to heal and focus on myself for a while. Now I'm ready to grow. I know my models and frameworks work, I love what I do, and I’ve rebuilt my businesses from the ground up in a way that’s sustainable for me. But I’ve realized I’m still holding back when it comes to putting myself out there, showing up consistently, and networking. I’m looking for ways to ease back into more connections, conversations, and collaborations without burning out again.

When we pull back and come back we get great insight of ourselves in the past, present and future. I'm glad you're here!
You're Probably Far More Ahead Than You Think You Are
I got a message on Microsoft Teams about 30 minutes before I left work today. It was one of my former employees. She's applying for a job in management and needed help. So I jump on a call with her and one of our Department Managers (her new manager's boss and my former boss) We have this Leadership Successive Review site that all employees need to fill out before applying to managerial positions. It was still showing her previous application but she needed to update it because she was covering as a manager for 6 months and had a lot more experiences to add to the review. So I helped them figure out how to get the review updated. She was saying she was a little bit concerned about her chances because we recently had a reorganization and there are probably going to be a lot of people applying for those management positions. So in my current role, I see a LOT of data. We probably have a little over 2,000 employees and over 100 managers. One of the programs that I'm responsible for is the application that managers use to provide feedback to their employees on how effective they are at managing their caseload. I know which managers are doing a good job and I know which managers are doing a bad job. I also know what she was doing with the tool when she was covering as a Manager. I told her as a covering manager she was doing a better job than many of the permanent managers. She could only see it from her perspective which is limited to what she can see at her level. However, because I have access to the entire organization, I have a much wider perspective than she does. I say that to say, many times we also are much further ahead than we think we are because we are looking at it from our limited perspective. However, if we were able to see ourselves from that wider perspective we would be surprised at how far ahead we actually are!

I liked this comment because confidence is one of the things I mentioned I need on my first post. I've spent years learning different skills for what I do and the business I'd like to grow and realised all I need is confidence and finding the most efficient way to do it. That's what I'm here for!
