Updating the Bookclub Schedule for the Summer
Hi all, Trying a little experiment over the summer, we're going to slow down on the bookclub just a little. So, instead of the usual schedule, we'll be testing out a six week schedule, where we'll do two check-in calls instead of one! 16th of May - Bookclub Check-in @ 7pm CEST 30th of May - Bookclub Check-in @ 7pm CEST 13th of June - Bookclub Summary @ 7pm CEST I'll test this out over the summer and see how it works for everyone, before deciding if we stick to that cadence or not long term. But, in the meantime if you've got any thoughts on this change, please let me know in the comments! P.S. incase you missed it - this month we're reading 'Good to Great' by Jim Collins.

We're reading 'Good to Great' for this Month's Product Bookclub!
Hi! Hope you enjoyed reading 'Transformed' as much as I did! Hoping to catch some of you during the summary today (at 7pm CEST) This month, we'll be reading 'Good to Great' by Jim Collins. The book explores how to shift product orgs over to the 'Product Operating Model', raising the awareness of the increasing need for Product Coaching in modern product orgs. I loved reading Empowered at the end of last year, so I'm confident this'll be a worthwhile read too. _________________________ What’s Product Bookclub? _________________________ It's an online bookclub for the members of Product Synthesis - each month I’ll announce a new Product book that I’ll be reading throughout the month, and anyone in the community is welcome to read (or listen) along with me! If you’re like me, and love reading, but don’t have enough people to discuss what you’re learning, then this’ll be perfect for you! I've changed the schedule a little for this one, as we're heading into the summer I thought I'd see how folks feel about a 6 week schedule for the bookclub instead of the monthly cadence we've been doing so far this year!

How are ya'll using AI in your work?
Hi friends, so I'm curious to hear about how you're all using AI in your product work? Have you found any interesting use cases, or tools that are helping you be more efficient in your work?

🖐️ Start Here: Welcome to Product Synthesis 👈
Hi Friends! Welcome to the best place on the internet for people who like to get nerdy about Product. It’s a place to nerd out about Product with other people who also want to nerd out about Product. We’re not like every other product community out there that slices up their groups by job title or skill set, this is a place for Leaders, Designers, PMs, Developers, Managers, Coaches, and Strategists to hang out together. It’s a place where we can all share what gets us excited, where we can learn from one another so that we can create better products, solve bigger challenges, and stand out from the crowd! I’m incredibly excited to have you here! WHAT'S PRODUCT SYNTHESIS ALL ABOUT? ____________________________________________ 1️⃣ THE COMMUNITY: The Product Synthesis (PS) community is hosted right here on the Skool platform. This is where you can hang out with other members, share interesting things you’ve learned or discover recently, and it’s where I’ll be dropping all the most interesting bits and pieces of Product GOLD every week. 2️⃣ LIVE HANGOUTS: Every other week we’ll have a ‘Product Chit-Chat’. These calls are a way to get together as a community, answer questions, discuss the latest in product, and share what we’re working on. These calls will usually be on Thursday, but you can keep up to date on the upcoming calls by checking out the Calendar. 3️⃣ PRODUCT BOOKCLUB: If you love reading, but never have the place to discuss what you’re learning, or you’re just looking for some accountability to keep your motivation up, then this is the perfect thing for you! Every month we’ll have a check-in call, where we can discuss what we’ve learned so far, and then at the beginning of each month I’ll do a full summary of the previous month’s book live! WHAT'S THE BEST WAY TO GET STARTED? ___________________________________________ 1️⃣ READ THE RULES: Before getting started, take a minute or two to look through the rules, these are here to make sure this group stays a place where people want to come and hang out. You can read them here.

Future of product design
Hi guys, I'm calling out to all the Product Managers and designers in this group. I've heard so many talks now, and am myself quite of the opinion that the making wireframes aspect of product design will come more of a commodity as our industry and tools advance. I'm personally thinking a lot that we've seen design evolve from a more 'craftsman' kind of idea, to a design as a cerebral activity, where a lot of what we design will not be visible, but more creating connections between different stakeholders and aspects of business. Sometimes I feel like I have an increasingly hard time seeing the difference between product managers and product designers. I know there are quite some cutting edge folks in this group, what is your take on how product design will look like in a couple of years? I'd be curious to know.

To be honest I think the whole UI creation element of Design is going to be simplified dramatically over the next 5 years. UI Design (including wireframes) is so systematic today that with GenAI you'll be able to generate 1000 great options quicker than even the most talent designer can come up with one. You'll be able to generate entire flows with animations from a sitemap, and you'll probably be able to generate that sitemap with a few clicks too. I think Design will become more of an operator role for GenAI - atleast for Web and App products, it might take longer for AR/VR UI to become commodified. I see Designers managing the system, ensuring that what they AI can generate from is clearly defined, they'll help in selecting the design, because they'll still be the folks who understand good vs bad design. In the short term I think we'll see many designers start using early versions of AI to scale their services and make $$$. Others will feel the winds changing and move into roles more focused on discovery, strategy, or product management (whilst bringing their design skills along for the ride. Many will continue doing what they're doing, some will be happy to move into an operator role, while others will be miserable and complain that 'AI took the creativity out of design'. Or, maybe I'm totally wrong and Design won't change at all in the coming years. 😅

@Ezzeldin Rafat I would say marketing is a few steps ahead simply because marketing automation has been a trend for years, where as design automation was incredibly complex to setup.
