Running a External Branding and Comms strategy for a Retreat for our Company
I'm putting together a workshop for our company's internal retreat here in the Philippines. I have members from my corp comm team and some from HR about 8 people in total for the whole workshop. Being that my dept is new, we need more info on stuff that worked in the past, so with that I'll open it up with a Sail Boat exercise. With that we'll be able to see whats worked and what wasn't working. Then I was thinking of going into a HMW exercise after voting to tackle 3 to 4 problems. The goal of this workshop is to come up with: External Branding of the retreat External Comms about the retreat Addtl Media we can use for internal comms building up and post-even How would you guys go about tackling this?

Workshop for Brand Distinction?
Hey guys, so the other day me and my colleagues ran a little workshop were we had key brand directors under our corporate umbrella meet up along with some key members from each of their teams, we split them up in 4 groups and 3 to 4 people per group... Group 1 & 2 with Brand X Group 3 & 4 with Brand Y And the goal of the workshop is to differentiate Brand X and Brand Y. We needed to have them answer these questions: What are the brands Role and Purpose, Beliefs and Values, Consumer Needs and Tensions, Persona and Tonality, and Benefits and Reasons to believe How would you guys tackle this? By the end of the workshop we should have a clearer distinction between the 2 brands, and they have their own tone and voice, and are clear about where they belong in the marketplace.

@Santina Burakiewicz Carlson It went ok. I think we def should have broken the exercise up into bits and pieces or, tackled each question as its own exercise... The only thing is tho, my boss isnt doing a customer persona. What we're doing is using the range of ages, not super wide, its only a few years - 20 to 23 yr olds using the philippines market segmentation chart: https://asintunado.wordpress.com/2018/02/23/around-0-6-of-filipinos-aged-18-53-are-considered-class-ab/ in the lower C market as our target business range, but the upper C as our communication target... Its all new and strange to me, but I'm just tryna learn as much as possible. haha For context I'm in the philippines.

@Dan Roberts We did a Focus group discussion with one of the brands, and that was helpful for some of the stuff we weren't sure about, and that sparked for us to do this exercise. But in hindsight, we def should've broken up the exercise. Tackled each topic as its own workshop. But we're already moving and grooving. The goal was to create a Brand manifesto, and I think we're there. Just have to present to the higher ups.
About to Pop my first Workshop Cherry
Hey all! I've been roaming around watching and reading workshop content from AJ& Smart for a while, and within the last month or so, I went head first...I will now be conducting my first workshop for 2 brands. The goal is to differentiate themselves from each other since we did a focus group discussion and got the feedback that their customers are somewhat confused by the messaging. Wish me luck!

So here's some reflection, our workshop went well, and we def uncovered some insights...we realized mid way through that some of the responses were too shallow, and the voting for the brand directors wasn't gonna work for this one...So we ended it after everyone from the brands presented, and we just spoke more in depth with the brand directors. I wanna get everyones opinion on how I should have gone about it better in another post. Thanks guys!
