New Beginnings Growth in Action
We had a great call yesterday, here is my Growth In Action from our call: I trust the timing of my life. The things I am outgrowing: ~ Fear that I'm not good enough. ~ Imposter syndrome ~ Putting everyone else's needs before my own. If the past chapter of my life could speak it would say to me: "Dear Connie, you are loving and devoted mother. This fact will be true regardless of how old your children are or how many times you visit them in the year. Thank you for giving this chapter of your life so much love and attention. Now, it is your turn to flourish and thrive."

@Celeste Elash Your words are so thoughtful and potent. You pack so much honesty, truth, reality into your thoughts. You are still showing up fully. Carry on brave woman, carry on into your new experiences.
A Small Creative Pause (Haiku Edition)
I loved Connie’s Jan 16 grounding practice and really enjoyed reading everyone’s responses. The rhythm of so many of them reminded me of how I feel when I read haiku. After sitting with the calm that came from Connie’s pause—naming what we can see, hear, feel, and smell—I felt inspired to nudge that grounded moment into something creative. So I turned it into a haiku. If you feel like playing along later today, here’s the invitation: Take the grounding pause first. Let it settle. Then try shaping it into a haiku (three lines: 5 syllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables). Here’s mine: Snow falls past windows the steady hum of furnace bitter-sweet coffee I didn’t aim for perfection. Turning the moment into something creative sparked joy for me, and I’m curious whether it might do the same for you. If you try it, I’d love to read them.

@Celeste Elash I don’t need anything to challenge my intellect, I’m looking for pure relaxation, enjoyment, and escape.

Tiny Step🪴 Jan 16, 2026
Hello to our amazing women 💛 If you’re new here, each Friday we share one simple Tiny Step, something gentle, doable, and realistic, even on full days. These are small actions meant to create a little more peace and clarity right where you are. This week’s Tiny Step is a grounding practice designed to bring a sense of calm into your body in under a minute. It’s called 5-Sense Grounding. Whenever you remember today or this weekend, pause for a moment and gently name: 1 thing you can see 1 thing you can hear 1 thing you can feel 1 thing you can smell Then take 1 slow, intentional breath That’s it. Just coming back into the moment. I hope this brings you a small pocket of peace wherever you are today. 😊

I see a fresh new sunrise, filled with promise of a new day. I hear the hum of the dishwasher I forgot to start last night. I feel the warmth of a cozy blanket. I smell the aroma of my herbal tea. I breathe a slow, cleansing breath.

@Jennifer Timm agree on the phone issue. Sad situation.
Do I need a dryer?
Inspired by Connie's videos, and having recently moved house, I asked myself - do I really need to buy a new dryer? I've been going to the dryer in our local shopping centre which is expensive but apparently using commercial machines is better for the environment if you have to use a dryer. Also looking it up online, I see that on balance having less clothes and washing more often uses less water overall (cost of growing cotton etc).

@Karen McDonaugh-Nicholls you LIVE on a narrowboat? I’m not sure what that is. I live in a land-locked , drought prone area. In fact we are under Red Fire Alerts right now for wildfires. We have rowers on very narrow shells on the river, but certainly nothing to live on. So I’m having trouble imaging what a narrowboat is and how you live on it? Just a topic for another day. I will google. We all live in such different areas. Will be interesting to learn about all our different areas.
New Latte Recipe for our No-Spend January
Good morning, friends. In the spirit of my no-spend January, I'm having coffee only at home. I've created this latte recipe to enjoy as a treat, and I've found it to be more satisfying than the $9 Starby's. If you decide to try it, please let us all know if it satisfied you as written, or if you've improved it with some tweaks. Celestial Latte Ingredients: - Strong coffee (my fave for this recipe is Café du Monde) - ¾ cup whole milk - 1 tsp honey or brown sugar - ¼ tsp vanilla extract - Tiny pinch cinnamon Instructions: 1. Brew the coffee stronger than usual. 2. Stir honey, vanilla, and cinnamon into the hot coffee. 3. Steam cold whole milk to a silky texture (about 140–150°F). 4. Pour steamed milk into coffee (about 60% milk, 40% coffee). 5. Finish with a little foam from the steamed milk and a light cinnamon dust.

This sounds so luscious. I have recently done a serious 10 day detox , and the first item to go was coffee. Green tea was allowed to get us past the caffeine desire. I’m now two weeks past the completed detox and yesterday my husband had left a small amount of coffee in the pot, so I grabbed it and added my usual vanilla protein creamer. I had previously been so addicted to this quasi latte, and cherished each morning sip. Within minutes my stomach was not happy after only a couple swallows!! Guess my detox worked. Wish the detox would work on my dark chocolate addiction like that.
