Favourite Piano VSTs?
Hi Everyone and Happy New Year! Just wondering what some of your favourite realistic-sounding Piano VSTs are? My go-to in trailer tracks is the Felt Piano from Spitfire's Olafur Arnalds Toolkit, but I need something a little less soft for a project I'm working on. I've been using Addictive Keys from XLN Audio for years in personal projects, but I'm not sure it quite has the realism I want/need for this professional project. Though interested if anyone disagrees! Let me know your thoughts! I'm hoping not to break the bank on another piano, but I'd love to have something that sounds super realistic to slot into my wider instrument collection (Nucleus, Metropolis Ark, Damage 2, Gravity etc) Thanks all!

For some great free options check out the site pianobook it was setup by Christian Henson for aspiring sample library creators otherwise the native instruments pianos are all great if you use kontakt the true keys collection is great if you use UVI and the pianos on the soundpaint platform are also very good and also cheap Hope this helps

Really enjoyed the scaling discussion earlier Really interesting idea to try and use Big thanks to Frank for the time and explanation and to Alex for making it happen

Thank you for this interesting challenge and informative approach to what you have found in this industry. My quick answers to your challenges would be 1 some soft chords played on sul tasto strings very close mics so you can hear the graininess of the bow and obviously the chords would have to fit the scene but that sound would help the stone like vibe in my opinion 2 the gnr vibe would be a distorted blusey guitar probably solo playing at some very slow pace that can hit cut points in the visual but around 60-70bpm 3 I would start with a solo flute adding extra lines adding other types of flute such as alto and piccolo creating an epic hum from the flutes as well as adding a little soft choir action to lift the cue as for the terrifying nature I would rub together some tones with half step tone to add a little dissanance. All 3 would also be underscored with light synthesis to help enrich their sound. I would love to have time today to have made a mock up but for that I would have needed either the picture to score to or a lot more information about the project which you would have had. I hope you like my answers and it would be good to know what you did and how it went Many thanks for this message Dogue
