Playing pickleball in 100+ degree weather…guess where I am?

Had a good day yesterday, my shoe new laces combo worked well, my new glasses were great and I came away with 2 medals. You earned a medal if you won 3 games in a row with the same partner. This is the first medals I've won in Amarillo.

My partner and I earned a gold medal yesterday at 3.5. We went 13 and 2. That was a ton of non stop games. Lots of calories burned and steps! Back at it in mixed doubles today! Anyone else play a tournament this weekend?

Rolled into men’s doubles with my guy Eric and kept it going—came out on top again 💪 We were down by as much as 8 (games to 15) in each of our last 3 matches and somehow clawed back to win all of them. Finished 6–0 in pool play and grabbed both medal round wins. His defense + my put-aways = problems 🤣 Also… just realized I’ve logged 8+ hours of pickleball in 2 days and didn’t even have time to snack, eat poorly, or enjoy an adult beverage! Didn’t know that was possible. Riding the wave while it lasts 🙌🏼

Physical and personal setbacks I have encountered the past few days. I may be out of this competition. No excuses. I’ll try. It was a good run. Hoping Nico can do this competition again in a few more months.
