Sugar Detox
Yesterday I started a sugar detox. Because cravings are tough and I wanted to figure out how to reset my body… boy was the headache real. It’s crazy what sugar can do to your body and your mind. Here’s to day two! I’m not asking that it gets easier only that I get stronger.

Man we did Keto a few years ago and I lost a ton of weight. Cutting the sugar and keeping carbs under 20g a day is so tough those first 2 weeks but it does get easier. It eventually became a choice bs fighting a craving. We did that for 6 months lost a ton and then in the next 6 maybe gained 30-40% back so it wasn’t all that bad.

Tips for staying focused and keeping head on the current point and not on the last 3 errors you made?

Placement over power, keeping in and let them make the mistakes. I suffer from that mental block getting me as well and it’s something to work hard on. No different than drilling for gameplay!

Adding on to what Jonathan asked about overcoming errors. What do you do or how do you get past really bad line calls? This weekend in one game there were 3 blatantly IN balls or on the line at best that were called out. It makes me steam and takes a few points to get my mental back on track. It derailed me in one game that I didn’t get back from and we lost because I couldn’t stop thinking about how bad it was. 3 on or inside lines and all called out and when I asked “are you serious, that was so in guys” the response was it’s my call to make not yours. Talk about fighting off the unhinged pickleball…I nastied the dude on my next serve and said oops, guess that on was in 🤣

@Edwin Fernandez man 💯 with you but it’s so hard. I coach travel soccer and always tell my kids to ignore the ref calls because you can’t change it. Be goldfish on errors and forget them. Play the Federer 15, 5 secs to be mad, 5 secs to forget, 5 secs to reapply yourself and move forward. I know all these things and still can’t get out of my way sometimes! It’s getting better but still needs constant work!
Diet Fatigue is REAL
I've been crushing it lately but had I camped overnight with my daughter's scout troop. I was bored and inhaled almost a whole bag of pickle flavored potato chips. Processed food is designed for overconsumption. Those bastards! 😆 But I tracked those chips anyways. I didn't play as much last week on top of it. My calorie deficit averaged 375 instead of 500 but it's a win because I still stuck to it. I lost less but I did lose. Diet fatigue is real. Sometimes you want to just eat freely without the confines of weighing and measuring but for me, I can't be trusted when I'm bored around processed delicious junk food. Fortunately, no more campouts until September! 😅

The worst! We camped all weekend at a PB tournament and I felt like every direction I turned was snacks, snacks, and more snacks 🤣
County Tournament Win!
Yesterday my partner and I came first place in our county rec league! We’ve been playing for 6 weeks against some good competition and it all came down to the final tournament yesterday. Locking in on diet and training the past couple weeks has definitely helped me get here! Ps. I’m rewarding myself with a paddle upgrade. I currently use the Honolulu J2K and love it but want to try something new. I prefer a control feel so any recommendations will be helpful!

I recently switched to the Luzz Inferno and after about 20 hours it wore in and is fantastic blend of touch and power…for me! Its foam and needs that break in before it feels just right, have a brand new back up that is way too poppy and needs the hours on it to break in. I’ve been letting others try it out at open play nights so they get to try and it also helps me to get that part done faster 🤣 Congrats on the long haul league dub, always feels good after that many weeks to see your game hold up and stay on top!
