Way to go!
We did it!!!
I did my final check in today!!! I lost 23# over the course of the reset. My goal was 10-15#. I focused on nutrition, recovery, hydration, drilling instead of playing, and I didn’t let myself skip workouts. I’m so happy with what I did and even more happy that so many of you saw improvement too. I was already trying to loose some weight in 2026 before the reset and I had just started to lose some discipline when the reset swooped in to save the day and get me back on track. I look better than I have in 20 years, feel better than I’ve felt in 20 years, I’m playing better pickleball than I ever have. This was a wonderful experience and I really think that anyone who participated came out of this was a net positive impact on their life. Don’t stop now. Post check in workout with kettlebells and bodyweight exercises. Finishing with a 5K row in sub 21:00!!! LFG

Thankful for Community!
I’m so thankful for the connections made and the steady encouragement from everyone during the Lefty Reset challenge. “Community” really was the perfect word for those final check-in photos! I truly felt it. I even got to meet some of the local participants in person, which made the whole experience even more special. Shoutout to @John Marchese and @Joshua Warren I was already trying to do the right things on paper before the challenge, but other factors had been holding my progress back. This reset gave me the nudge I needed to finally try intermittent fasting, and for the first time in a long while, I’m seeing the scale move in the right direction. That shift feels so encouraging! A huge thank you to @Nico Valencia for putting this challenge together, the sponsors and to all the amazing participants who joined in. Your support and shared journeys made a real difference. Grateful and motivated to keep going!

So fast!
8 weeks… wow, so fast! I’m proud of everyone regardless of accomplishments! I semi hit my own personal goals but want more. I haven’t felt this driven in quite a while. I may not have lost the most percentage wise, but I lost and stuck with it! I am glad to have been on this journey with you folks and sad to not stay on it in this forum/challenge. Nico, reboot this B and let’s run it back!

Picture worth a thousand words
They say a picture is worth a thousand words and that phrase can’t ring any louder for me right now with the physical changes seen in just 60 days (disregard the bed head and unshaven face 😂). What the picture does not show is the mental impact produced as well. I decided a couple weeks in to add a personal mental challenge in for me with mentality and life productivity in general. One of the books I read during this was Atomic Habits and I would encourage you all to pick it up. As with most personal growth books, the information is not earth shattering revelation, but it does encourage and motivate you to adjust your way of thinking and your actions in life. One major premise of the book can be summed up with one quote from it: "If you can get 1 percent better each day for one year, you'll end up thirty-seven times better by the time you're done“ These tools can be applied in every area of your life whether it’s work, family, health, and most certainly with pickleball!!! So keep on keeping on folks and continue improving your life and the lives of those around you.
