Thanks guys for helping me select the book cover. I am really happy with it. The Guy I selected on Fiverr was really great and I will definitely be using him again. I am excited to be working on this book and will be releasing it no later that March!

I agree! The cover looks very nice and professional!
I have been thinking about practising reading. Essentially I plan to just practice reading so that I can get use to my recorded voice. I am not worried about the quality if these practice recordings. So I have an idea. My phone has a recorder on it. So I can just record myself reading using my phone. This would enable me to have practice sessions while I am on lunch break. What do you think of this idea?

Yes, that's such a good idea, so we can make some good demos! I've been doing some practice reading and then practicing editing it... with noise reduction etc.

@Student I'm interested too. I have audacity, but need to learn more about editing and using it in general.

@Student I feel like I've watched tons of YouTube videos. But after a while, I need to take action! I'm hoping to learn the next steps to take.
My oldest Daughter came over and we put up the Acoustic Foam on the ceiling in my booth! It took way longer that we had planned because the command strips didn't stick to the foam so I had to be creative and use some Elmer's Multi-Purpose spray Adhesive. I'm so happy it's finally done!

So you want to get into voiceover work? If you are an aspiring actor or have an eye for a career that combines artistry and audio engineering, then you should consider taking the steps to a successful career in voiceover. The first step to successful voiceover work is to promise yourself that you will dedicate time and effort into honing your craft. This means that you need to take the time to practice and perfect your voice. Going to an open mic event or taking an acting class where you can practice your delivery and use the feedback to improve is the best way to get started. Secondly, it's important to get involved in the local voiceover community. Attend workshops and network with professionals in the industry. Start connecting with professionals and they can help you find work opportunities and offer insight into what it takes to successfully break in to the industry. Next, begin demo production process. Before you can start marketing your skills, you need to have your demo voiceover script and recording ready. You can do this yourself by investing in a quality microphone and recording equipment. You can also look for voiceover coaches and demo producers who can help you record your demo. Once your demo is complete, you need to start marketing yourself as a voiceover artist. Join professional organizations, post your demo online, and find clients who need voiceover work. You should also build a website that showcases your work and any testimonials from happy clients. Finally, you need to stay organized when it comes to your voiceover work. Set up a system to track your communications, network with agents, and practice vocal exercises to stay sharp. By following these steps, you can go from aspiring voiceover artist to successful voiceover star. So what are you waiting for? Get started on your voiceover journey today!

#Your DAW I'm using Audacity because it's free. I also have Adobe Audition through my husbands work.

@Carter Anderson Since I'm so new to VO, and just started learning Audacity in the last couple of weeks... I don't think it'll take too long to switch over Adobe Audition. I'm just getting ready to make my first demo.
Guess what ups dropper off this bright sunny day. They even ring the door bell.

I was just looking through my media files when I came across a recording. To cut a long story short, the choir that I am a member of decided to make a "Virtual Choir" video during the Covid lockdown. Each of us recorded our parts using our mobile phones. I managed to find a USB adapter and was able to plug my Blue Yeti microphone into my phone. We then submitted it and the video was produced. I must admit that I recorded my part a number of times. Mainly due to mistakes that resulted in lyrics, some of which were "colourful", that were not correct or part of the song. Anyway, I thought I would share this with you because I think it is amazing what you can produce with mobile phones. I hope that you enjoy it. Mr Blue Sky : https://youtu.be/zmEvFTgxK14

How to make and customize your Profile for editing so it's faster, instead of going to effects so many times... having them all in one step would be awesome!
I have been wondering if it is possible to earn a good living without joining a site. My current plan (in another posting entitled "My Plans") is essentially to do the Voice over for my own products. After that I am considering reaching out to the members of professional bodies/groups that I am a member of. Any thoughts regarding this?

This coming Saturday, May 13th will be the final opportunity for everyone to attend the Live AMA sessions that we have been having every Saturday. Also the last day for this group, sadly will be Monday, May 22nd. However, @Michael Ray will be doing an amazing live Zoom session every Saturday at 1 pm EST starting May 20th. I highly encourage everyone to reach out to him for more info and to join Mike and take advantage of his knowledge in the realm of not only audio production but client acquisition as well! Finally, everyone that has access to the Voice Over Domination Course will also have access to all of the live recorded Zoom sessions for the AMA as well. I just added that to the bonus section of that course. If you do not have access to that course you can get more information on that here https://www.stepstovoiceoversuccess.com/offers/2zzjbows #GRINDANDDONTQUIT -Earl

Thank you! You have helped me so much! I appreciate all the time and effort you have put into giving us the best information. Being willing to answer any questions we might have to get past anything that would be stopping us.
Today was the last AmA with Earl. Two things. One you will never really know how much you effect a person. Even when you tell them, Earl in the short time I've been with him and the group. I have done more in the short time I've been with him. There aren't enough words in the English language to express the thanks for helping me move forward with my career....Business as a voice over artiest. And two he as said somethings that will be like a hard kick in your stomach. But sometimes you need that person in your life who can tell you what you need to hear so you can move on to do what you really want to do. This was the last one with him, because like the saying goes, he's work was done and it's time to move on. and we will follow him as we work om our own journeys. And he'll be right there look over our shoulders. And whispering a fine point or two. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU HAVE DONE. AND AS ALWAYS YOU KNOW IF YOU NEED ANY OF US WE HAVE YOUR BACK .๐

Got this message from Marc Cashman regarding solution to mouth noise. Just sharing in case someone else may be vexed with this problem. The answer is very simple. Somehow in the passage of time, I forgot to breath. GADQ! Marc Cashman Mitigating mouth noise is simply a process of breathing through your phrases. The moment you stop the air flow is when mouth noise occurs. If you're mindful of breathing through phrases, you'll virtually eliminate mouth sounds. Add a noise gate in post and you'll have cut down on your editing time significantly.

One thing with having AmA's on here is that you can go back and look for new ideas. Or learn something that at that time you missed. I love going back and hear something that I missed while it was live. And if you've never been on one of them they are full of nuggets of pure gold. once you've really heard what happening on them, you'll laugh you'll cry but you will never want to say good bye.๐

Well done! Thanks for sharing! Although, I'm having a slight problem reading the different things you're offering... the purple words on the blue background.
I gave old girl an up grade. Bought a pack of sound proofing tiles And super glued them inside the milk crate. There's far less room for the sound to move around. But I like the result. Yea I could have bought one of Amazons portable sound boxes. But where's the fun in that. I'm also posting two clips of the test I did. Test is unprocessed and test2 is after processing With Amplifier, And ns1 wave for the basic sound. Now I get to play with reverb, echo and all the other effects.๐ Dear Santa, I've been an ok boy this year 2024 please can I have one of the grown up sound booths. Where there's a will :grind and don't you dear quit. ๐

Where do I find it? Getting ready to take this serious. This is something that I have been wanting to do for awhile now and I'm so glad I have come across @Earl Hall and all of the wonderful people involved in this community. All of you are and have been an inspiration as I begin this journey. I'm new to this and over the last couple of days, I have started practicing. Don't have any of the equipment yet, but I'm going to get there soon. But my motto has always been, just get started until you get what your need. Start the process. Here a couple of things that I just recently did. Human Life as Source Energy Been working on those Canva skills along with voice over work. Canva + TikTok + Twitter + Voiceover ๐๐ฝ The Art of Love ๐๐ฝ Human Life As Source Energy ๐๐ฝ The Uses of Money Leave your thoughts and comments. They are welcomed and appreciated.
