7 steps for developing new habits
Here are seven steps to help develop new habits: "Brian Tracy" 1. Make a decision: Decide to act in a specific way consistently. 2. Never allow an exception: Stay disciplined and avoid making excuses. 3. Tell others: Share your goals for added accountability. 4. Visualize yourself: Imagine yourself successfully adopting the new habit. 5. Create an affirmation: Repeat a positive statement about the habit. 6. Resolve to persist: Keep practicing until it feels automatic. 7. Reward yourself: Treat yourself when you succeed to reinforce the behavior.

I've been working on the 2nd one. Seeing non-negotiable task for the day has been helpful.
Had to call an audible...
Normally, I like to work out first thing in the morning because as the day gets going, it's challenging to get my work out in. I had cut what I wanted to do to still get a quality session in. This is what was on the plate: Dynamic warm-up 10M Main Lift: Zercher Squats 4X2 Weighted Pull-up 2X3 *during rest 1L Curl 2X7 Weighted Dip 2X5 * during rest 1A Weighted Popeye Curl 2X7 Accessory: Upper back/Grip I was still able to get a heavy leg session in with the crowded gym and just had to swap out a few exercises due to the time. Overall, another session in the books.

I'm opting out
ā— Of the organized distractions. ā— The normalcy of the hustle culture. ā— The indoctrinated apathetic mindset of society. The same control of how I take care of my well-being physically can be applied mentally. The divisiveness of society I can choose to not engage by not investing in it 24/7. I'm not saying I need to be stoic, rather, every situation or information I come across doesn't need to be emotionally draining. I lile to be up-to-date with what's going on around me but I no longer watch the news intently as I did in the past. I no longer fit in the box that was assigned to me. Instead, my time and energy mean more at this point than it did before. I'm not at the "old man yells at cloud" age šŸ˜…, but turning 50 this year, priorities are changing. As well they should. I appreciate this group because it's a place to learn but also share with other like minded coaches. How are the rest of you opting out and taking back control of your time?

@Seth Morris yes, energy is currency. I appreciate your comment.

@Matt DOrazio I feel the same way. Peace over chaos sums it up nicely.
Next Q&A
Good day everyone I've been traveling a ton these past couple of weeks so it's been difficult to get a minute to set aside the time to hop on live. With that being said next week we will be back at it. Plan for Friday at 10am eastern we will be discussing new plans for the community and answering any questions you have. Thanks for your continued commitment and contributions. Best Phil
