Let's start hair...
I'll be turning 42 soon, and needing to maintain a professional appearance. I have curly hair (like coily curly), and in college, I started learning some care and styling tricks to allow some length for curls without simply a frizzy fro. I could use some help in two areas: (1) What are some professional hairstyles that are a little bit longer, to leverage the curls, but are also fitting for my age? (2) What are some care and styling tips for someone with really curly hair?

Don’t know much about curlier hair styles but you should stay natural if you can. Right now, the more natural style, the better. I will say, stick with a very light leave-in conditioner. It’ll keep your hair moisturized during the day but if it’s nice and light, it won’t make it look greasy. For an exact style, consult with an experienced barber. I like getting my hair cut by pretty young women. Tell them you want to look as handsome as possible while maintaining your natural curls. Young women will know what’s in style and trendy but they will keep it looking natural if you tell them to. That’s your best bet.
Brownie outfit and a new sling bag!
This is what I sported while shopping for utilities (with wifey) today. Comments are most welcome! 1. I have paired an ivory crew neck Tee with a custom tailored (I found a bespoke tailor, finally) khakhi Chinos in 100% wool for a subtle contrast. 2. I have complemented this base outfit with a new camel trucker jacket in 100% corduroy. 3. Accessories include brown belt and tan loafers in newbuck leather (I am showing the later in the forum for the first time). 4. The showpiece is a cross body sling /messenger bag in blue canvas from Amazon. I got this after a lot of research to fit my four basic requirements: (a) it has to withstand a lot of wear and tear and be water washable (so, no leather), (b) it has to be kind of minimal with no flashy logos, (c) it must have enough room for many many items I carry every time (a 1.0 L water bottle, sanitizer, hand towel, wet tissue pack, key pouch, wallet, mobile phone, two cloth bags for carrying groceries, and an umbrella and (d) it must have two pockets in the front which should hold my wallet and mobile phone comfortably. The feature in this sling bag which provided for (d) was a winner.

Yes, well done. Nice job. Masculine outfit and great fit.
Rainy and Chilly Friday.
I picked up a new sport coat and a navy long-sleeve polo the other day and figured today’s less-than-cooperative weather gave me a good excuse to put them into rotation. The coat leans into those richer, cooler-season tones, but paired with the clean navy base and lighter trousers, it holds its own just fine outside of fall. To anchor everything, I went with a pair of chocolate suede Allen Edmonds loafers—soft texture, deep tone, and just enough presence to pull the whole look together without shouting for attention. They do exactly what a good shoe should: quiet confidence, solid footing. Finished things off with a couple sprays of Polo 67—fresh, sharp, and quickly climbing the ranks in my rotation. All in all, not a bad way to make a gloomy day look a little more put together.

This is a great outfit. The jacket pops. Nice job, A+.
Pants length
I bought pants to match a jacket I had. The exact pants they have their model wearing on the website for the jacket. I loved the way it looked. I'm thinking of wearing this for a wedding in South Beach in July that's supposed to be somewhat casual. Are the pants at the right height? I think they are ok but my wife says they are too high. The jacket is pulling in some of the warmth from the lights so it looks slightly different but it's the exact same color.

Yes, they’re fine. Don’t change. Maybe try to adjust the cut at the bottom tho to a standard straight hem, I’m a bigger fan of them. The cuff at the bottom there is sort of old school. But it’s probably a generational difference in opinion.

Wait I just noticed tho, this isn’t a suit. Definitely go with a different color blazer. Like a navy blue. Failure to do this will make some people think you were trying to make a suit out of two pieces of different material.
