Quivers
What quiver is everyone using for hunting? On bow back, hip? Slide on or strap on quiver. Looking for one for my new bow.

While there are many brands and styles of quivers that are all very high quality, what you need to consider is the type of hunting you will be doing, the style of shooter you are, and how that quiver will function in the field for you. A back quiver can be fantastic where trees, bushes and overhanging rocks aren’t a concern, but can be cumbersome with a pack on. A leg quiver might be great for open spaces with tall grass but won’t work well for climbing mountains or trees. A bow quiver (what I generally use) is fantastic for long distance hikes with heavy pack on, but can be hard to use from a tree stand or ground blind. My personal suggestion is that you will need at least two different styles of quivers for different types of hunting, especially if you like to hunt for a variety of animals. The most important parts though, is that it needs to work, be quiet, and above all safely hold your arrows until the moment of truth.
Favorite archery picture
I have several “hero” pics that I like to look back on of my progression of a archery hunter but this is by far my favorite archery picture, my son and I going to retrieve arrows 10 plus years ago. Let’s see some of your favorite archery pics and nothing wrong with a good hero pic by the way.

The older I and my Daughter get, the more I realize that there’s a different kind of “Hero Picture” that means so much more. Soon my Little Princess will grow too big to ride in her pack and will be walking these trails next to me.
New to Bow Hunting - What advice would you give..
I will be honest, I no nothing about bow hunting but I am keen to learn hence why I joined here. (So go easy on me) Rifle has always been my preferred method. 😬 What advice would you have given yourself when you were starting or what advice would you give a friend who is just starting out? Would love to hear your thoughts

Welcome to the journey my friend! For an “all in one” startup kit, check out Southwest Archery, or Fleetwood. They make great products that despite their modest prices are still excellent bows for the budding traditional archer. As Grant mentioned, Black Swan is another good choice, as is Mandarin Duck. Finding the “right” draw weight is very important not only because of the potential to over-bow yourself, but also not having enough draw weight to keep you from forming bad habits. Archery is full of trade-offs and finding the right balance is key to success. Start by figuring out what your goals are. Do you want to hunt for turkeys and whitetail? Or are you after elk? Building your shooting routines, as well as your bow setup to suit your immediate needs should be setting you up for success in meeting your eventual goals. While there are literally thousands of videos on how to shoot, Grant’s methods of teaching are extremely effective and useful in getting you ready to take on your first bow hunt. Remember this is a marathon, not a sprint to the top and it will take time, dedication and commitment to become successful. But once you taste that success, you’ll be drawn to it forever

While making strings is very rewarding and is definitely something we should all know how to do, Western Archery makes a great endless loop string, and my amazing friends at RMS gear make a Flemish string that is even better than my own.
Backyard Ranges
Let's see those backyard ranges.

May not be the backyard and only 10yds but after dinner when it’s too dark to shoot (safely) outside it’s my little slice of heaven
