Community Growth Ideas Please!
What's up land Mojo... I've been working on my group, Raising Entrepreneurial Kids, ever since I left Travis in Little Rock. Here's the strategy/results so far: - Posting 2-3 times per week - Started doing interviews with other parents - Posting on my FB and old email list to direct people to the group - Talking & adding value in other groups - 65 members, no attempt at monetization I'm struggling with two things... growth and engagement. I thought that interviews would help increase the growth rate, as it taps into other people's audiences (while also being super valuable and interesting). Engagement proves hard too, even with encouragement... a lot of people just like to lurk. I've talked this through with @James Foster and @Adrian Hall - both had super helpful points. But I also want to tap into the brain trust here. Firstly, my two concern that may or may not be reality... 1. My group isn't focused on ROI, it's also not focused directly on the group member. Obviously, people care about their kids... but there's no fixed outcome I can really promise here. 2. Skool feels like a suboptimal platform for the growth & engagement side of things when compared to facebook. People log in to Facebook every day... not so much with Skool. But I do consider this a minor concern. Secondly, some further ideas I've had... 1. Instead of locking the interviews away in the Skool group - put them on YouTube and point people to the group. However, I could see the same issue here with getting the word out about the YouTube channel. 2. A 7-day "sell your stuff" challenge. I've polled the group on this, but I could see this being a $7 offer I run traffic to - to bring people into the group. So... Any ideas on the above... Or what I could do to boost growth & engagement? TY

@Karen Mack Thanks Karen, really cool ideas. Here's the link if the offer to poke around is still on: https://www.skool.com/raising-entrepreneurial-kids

@Chris Dyson Oh damn, this looks great. @Travis Sago reckon this is better than what I've writte up there? ^
Love y’all but it’s time for some to go.
I’d rather have 100 Flames who are EXCITED and participating in a financially independent future now… Than 1000 who aren’t feeling the mojo and fearful of making a move. I’m an excitable and action oriented guy! I wanna spend my time with people excited and thirsty for new adventures! If that’s not you, it’s ok. I’m like peanut butter. There’s nothing wrong with mustard. But peanut butter and mustard don’t make for a tasty sammich. 🥪 I’m gonna be removing the mustard from the sammich here in the next few days. If you’re jam or jelly, but have been busy… Sound off below. 🍯 Make a post. 🍯 Shout out what you’ve got done. 🍯 Or something so I don’t remove ya by mistake. Also… If you’re 100% sure I’m not your cup of tea… I won’t be butt hurt if you bow out on your own. I will still be rooting for ya! -Travis

I've got my group ticking over, but after some much-needed time off next week for my bday, I'm full steam ahead!
What do we want to teach kids about money?
Kids watch what their parents do. If Dad is constantly stressed about money… They learn money is stressful. If they watch Mom put off her dreams for someday until she’s got enough saved… They learn money is more important than their dreams. If mom and dad are off working until they’re in college or grown so they can “retire.” They learn to put money over family experiences. Look… There’s been a few comments that Community FIRE ain’t “easy!” And I ask? Compared to WHAT? According to the Federal Reserve… Only 4.7% of people retire with more than $1 million. After slaving and saving for ALL of their adult lives! And for the 4 people out of 100 who DO hit a Millie… The “standard” personal finance advice is to withdraw 4% a year. That’s $40,000 a year or $3,333 a month. Again… Only 4 out of 100 will reach that after THIRTY YEARS of slaving and saving! And what are we teaching our kids about money? Now… Compare that to… 👉 Starting an evergreen community 👉 Putting in 500 to 1000 members 👉 Running one auction a month And easily knocking out $3,333 a month… And if ya need more… Bolt on another of 12+ monetization methods. Now are there steps? Yes. Will it take a bit of time? Yes. But it won’t take THIRTY FUCKING YEARS of slaving and saving. And I guarantee we’ll find it… More FUN🤩 More IMPACTFUL 🤩 And something we can TEACH our kids!🧒 Kids learn by example (mostly). Maybe we can show them that we don’t need to slave our lives away for someone else? That there are other options rather than “Saving” it for 30 years in crony banks and institutions. Only to have a 4 out of 100 chance of living off $3,333 which won’t go far in 2055. Leaving 96 out of 100 to DEPEND on Social Security and the “benevolence” of the idiots in guvmint! What could possibly go wrong? Is CFM FIRE hard? Is the Slave and Save 30 year plan hard? Choose your hard! And the kiddos are watching! Rooting for Ya, Travis

This is exactly what my two groups want to achieve!
Useful?
I made a doc showing info on the Top 20 Skool groups in the MONEY category. The doc shows: Group name Price MRR Description About page copy I made it so I can analyze the copy and find repeating common patterns. The PDF is attached here. P.s...5 of the top 20 groups are NOT in English. HUGE markets out there!
