To everyone who’s just joined — I’m really glad you’re here. Grounded Roots is all about slowing down, understanding our children (and ourselves), and finding calm in the noise of everyday life. And speaking of calm… our home has had an unexpected little grounding gift recently. A neighbors cat — who had been visiting for a while — quietly decided our conservatory was the safest place to have her babies. No drama, no fuss. She just trusted, settled in, and gave birth to six tiny kittens while the whole house was busy doing life. There were no complications and all babies are doing well 🤗💓 They’ve become such a reminder of what we talk about here all the time: that regulation comes from safety, that healing happens in quiet moments, and that sometimes the gentlest things arrive right when we didn’t even know we needed them. So here’s a small, soothing moment from them today 🐈‍⬛✨💕 If you’re new: take your time, breathe, look around. There’s no pressure to share or post — just being here is enough. And if you ever want to introduce yourself or say hello, you’ll be met with warmth. You’re very welcome in this space. 🌿

My first module coming in a week (although I have already added some mindful thoughts on the classroom) the next one will be all about understanding the why behind children’s behaviour — especially children with ND. I will cover sensory needs, overwhelm, emotional load, and how to recognise what’s really happening beneath the surface. This can then help you to recognize the fizzle before it becomes full blown overwhelm! This won’t be perfect pictures or polished banners… it’s real life. Supportive, honest, a bit messy — and hopefully grounding for anyone who needs it. Hope to see you there! 🪷🌿

Is this the universe cat distribution system going on? It knows exactly who will fill the role… and then casually drops a cat in their path like, “Yep. This one’s yours now.” This Queen has decided our conservatory is her chosen maternity suite. She does technically live next door (Chaos house), but honestly — unless you’ve dealt with a pregnant cat before, you’d never realise how particular they can be. So she’s here. Nesting. Supervising. Acting like she booked this room months ago. And me? I just accept it at this point. If there’s an animal within five miles in need of a warm spot, emotional support, or snacks… the universe simply goes: “Send them to Ellie — she’ll sort it.” It's not wrong. @Chad Noorman know any cat people lol
