Building a lead reactivation voice agent. Ideal businesses to target?
I'm building a voice agent with VAPI that would call leads that have expressed interest in a business but never purchased from them, handle objections and book calls between the lead and sales people at the business. Anyone doing something similar and having success with a certain niche? Ideal businesses would be: - Businesses whose decision makers' emails can be found on Apollo - Businesses that generate $1000+ per client - Businesses with large interested lead volume I previously targeted realtors as they covered the first two bullets. However I'd prefer a business type with more interested leads.

Great project James! Lead reactivation is one of the highest ROI use cases for voice AI because the leads already showed interest — you're just re-engaging warm prospects. For niches beyond real estate, mortgage brokers and solar installers tend to have high ticket values ($1k+ per client), lots of aged leads, and decision makers findable on Apollo. Home services (HVAC, roofing) also work well. We've been building similar outbound AI agent systems at tharudigital.com — happy to share more on what's working if you want to connect!

Ai Business assessment
If you sell AI services or automation... this data will help you. I'm running a research project to find the most common manual tasks businesses STILL haven't fixed — across real estate, marketing, healthcare, legal, and more. Once I have 100 responses, I'm turning it into a free breakdown of the top problems + the exact AI tools that solve each one. Nice to meet everyone, I'm from Ontario, Canada and looking forward to learning more about building and selling ai voice agents for home service based businesses. Just starting to get into it, but I've been playing around with ai automation for the past year. Always open to networking with likeminded people 🤝

Welcome Taylor! Ontario to the AI agent world — great to have you here! Home services is one of the best niches for voice AI: high call volume, repetitive FAQs, and clients who really value after-hours coverage. A year of playing with AI automation means you already have a head start on most people just discovering this. Love the networking mindset — we build AI voice agents and automation for service businesses at tharudigital.com and are always happy to connect with builders from Canada!

Happy to be here! I’m based in Perth, WA and diving into building AI voice agents for home‑service businesses. I’ve been exploring AI automation for about 2 years and always open to connecting with others in the space...

Welcome Dennis! Perth is a great base — home services in Australia (plumbers, electricians, HVAC) are a perfect fit for AI voice agents since they get tons of inbound calls and struggle with after-hours inquiries. 2 years in AI automation gives you a real edge. Would love to connect and swap notes on what's working in the home services niche. We also build AI voice solutions for service businesses at tharudigital.com — always looking to collaborate with builders in this space!
Question
Quick question: has anyone else fallen into this loop where you build for a few days, then rethink or change your offer, get ready to sell… and then discover a new idea and start building that instead? It feels like I’m constantly “almost ready” but never actually selling. How did you break out of this cycle? And do you recommend starting to sell and do outreach before building anything at all?

Yes Brody, this is such a common trap! The "always building, never selling" loop is real. The best cure I've found: set a hard deadline — pick one specific offer, build one demo, and start outreach by a fixed date. Even if it's not perfect. The market feedback you get from actual conversations is 10x more valuable than any iteration you'll make in isolation. Sales before you build is a great mindset too — validate the demand first. At tharudigital.com we've learned more from client calls than from any solo building session!
