๐Ÿ“Œ New Hype Phrases?
I keep getting pitched to attend, to watch, to participate in, a once-in-a-lifetime, you-can't-afford-to-miss-it, millionaire-action-plan webinar with messages including phrases like these or others similar: ๐Ÿ‘‰ High-impact, deep-dive session or the opposite, ๐Ÿ‘‰ Relaxed, easy-going conversation 80% or more (that is 4 out of 5, folks) of the few I do attend end up being nothing more than ego-fests telling me how great the presenter is, or fluff-and-stuff nothing-burgers, all leading to a sales pitch for their just-discovered, guaranteed blueprint to 6- or 7-figure success. One even said 8-figure; did they even know what that is? I am seeing so many current marketers slipping into the gilded days of Madison Avenue BS and hype. Is some misguided guru actually teaching this? "Mad Men" is a critically acclaimed television drama set in the 1960s, not a marketing success plan for 2026! Forget the hype. Forget the memes. Forget the bull. Say what you mean and deliver on what you say. Then over deliver. Watch success happen. Going back to first principles is never a bad idea. Horton had it right! The time to find your guide is before you get lost in the woods. Stephen B. Henry, the Coach's Coach. Online Strategist, Business Success Guide, Personal Mentor. ...and a big fan of Theodor Geisel's books for adult reading!

โ€œI meant what I said and I said what I meantโ€ฆ An elephantโ€™s faithful one hundred per cent!โ€ This is great! I look for that when I'm trading my time for their information -- it is NEVER free, my time is worthy. And I can only hope that it is being used as such!

The Gift of Attention
No matter if it is a holiday, birthday or just a normal dayโ€ฆ one easy way to show you care about others is to ask them questions about their life. These 3 are a great place to start. If you have others, please give us a give and share in the comments below. - What are they excited about? - What are they working on? - What are they hoping for? Simply asking the question and listening thoughtfully is an act of generosity. You're giving them the gift of attention

@Dan Murray Yeah, I'm really excited to see this Skool group grow. I think great people gather online in places where they keep the dust out of the corners :) (i.e. they're active!) ... so I'll do my best to stay engaged. I miss the olden days of BBS's. These Skools are kind of like it, only more global, which brings in broader perspectives and I'm here for that!! :D

@Dan Murray Ack! You're oldskool but not cool enough to know BBS's?!! I might have to revoke your card-carrying abilities ๐Ÿ™ƒ Like Steve said, mini-internet .. it was a great place to play simple games and chat with local geeks and nerds! I loved everything about it!!
๐Ÿ“Œ The Long Road to Right Here
Lessons from sixty years of learning, building, failing, and becoming. I started my first real business when I was 14. Not because I had to, but because the opportunity came along and I took it. That was 60 years ago. Yeah, I am really that old! Over those years I have had several jobs and built many businesses, seldom keeping them for more than 3 years; the job or the business. That is not failure; it is experience. I have worked in many fields and at many levels, from laborer to corporate executive. That was all about learning, too. I built and sold many successful businesses, a few just kind of quietly folded, and there were a few miserable failures in the mix as well. Again, learning; even the failures. When I was approaching 60 I finally figured out what I wanted to be when I grew up. For the last 15 years I have been an online presence strategist, business success guide, and personal development mentor. You might ask, "Which one?" but you would be missing the point. The three of those work together like a well-made dove-tailed chest of draws. Not to mention what is hiding inside. "Niche" can be good, especially at the beginning, but do not overlook the myriad possibilities arrayed before you. Whether you are starting a new business or expanding an existing one, whatever you chose to do, do it well, do it often, and do not be afraid to do something new. There are many awesome opportunities in this group; and many more to come. Whether you can give help, or need help, do not be silent. Speak up. Reach out. Use your voice. Tell us what you need. Share what you offer. I know. Crazy, right? Self-promotion IS allowed here. Just be professional about it. And be on topic for the community. Saris and Foster Grant knock-offs would not be welcome. Your unique brand of coaching would. Like you, I am still alive. And still learning. The time to find your guide is before you get lost in the woods!

Some roads lead us forward, and other's are switchbacks so we can see the awesome view we'd've missed if we'd taken the straight and narrow ๐Ÿ™ƒ Remembering that "forward" can look a lot like backward, until you realize what you missed and why your steps took you in that direction. It's okay to make mistakes, it's what we do with them that matters. It's also okay to take a breather -- you're more than entitled to; you're fully deserving. It's just a matter of knowing when to start back up again! And starting over from scratch is never really that -- when we start again, we start with all the new knowledge we've gained along the way. That's always ours to keep. So whether you're on the long road, or just at a new starting line -- I wish you all the best!!! And if you need a cheerleader, or a shoulder to lean on, I'm just a few pixels away :)

Taking on a new shape is hard... but it's a lot like some animals who shed skin ... you grow too big for the old and it splits to make room for the new. But it's a pretty mighty dance required to get you out of that which weighs you down. So I'll raise a glass (of coffee!) to the pioneers of the future! Here's to letting go of all that which no longer serves.
