How’s January been for everyone business-wise? I’m still new and it’s been pretty slow for me so far. Curious how others are doing.

@Darius Irani it was super slow for me. I even tried commercial. I got 10 again but not the twenty I was looking for. Have to keep at it and figure out how to reach my customers.
Should I go Commercial
I have been washing windows for over two years as a side hustle. My son and I just launched this year. Should I keep door hanging, and bandit sign, and other marketing focused on residential only? Or should I use some time to go hand out my business card and try to drum up some commercial?
Business Text Registration
Has anyone else had trouble with SMS registration of their business VOIP line to be able to text customers? I'm using Nextiva and it's been over four months without being able to text. It's been a huge headache and the communication between the 10DLC verification process and Nextiva has been terrible. It's hindering my ability to hand out door hangers since I have "Call or Text for Free Estimate".

I have a google voice number and it works for texting and calling without having to do the verification. I do not believe you can do text marketing through it but you can receive texts

@Darius Irani Yeah, that is annoying. What I did to solve that was change the caller ID. In google voice you can change the caller ID to be your google voice number. This means you won't see the phone number that is calling you, but you do see that it is from your company number. Not as good as Nextiva, but a work around. Once I have enough business I will switch to a business line.
Flyers
I'm still using my sweat equity to get this going. I have door hangers and I have heard a few people have had success with flyers and quoting on the flyer. Two questions, if I should do a flyer since I have more space what is some good marketing advice for a high quality call to action. My target audience are people in the $100k+ salary range who value their time and value a clean house. Second, how do you quote without counting the windows? Obviously I can count the front but I cannot see the backyard unless the person is there. Do I just estimate based on size? Don't want to underbid or overbid houses. Thanks in advance for the help.

@Benjamin Millen cool, I have been just hanging the door hangers and wasn't sure if it was worth the time to try and quote. Good to know it is an estimate and that makes sense. I think for now I will stick with the door hangers.

Went door hanging today. I know it’s early but here in Arizona it’s in the 70s already. Open to any suggestions or opinions. Was able to give a quote and schedule one job. Not to bad.
