My first custom workflow (not copied)!
Hey all -- I just want to share my n8n I spent all weekend researching how to do it then building & troubleshooting it until it worked right! As a Bitcoiner, I was happy to get this working as now I cannot wait to be able to show it to all my colleagues at my upcoming Bitcoin Meetup. I took a screenshot of the workflow attached below. It starts with a Telegram trigger where I can either type or voice record my message saying I want to pay someone a certain amount of sats. It then detects if its text or voice (if voice it transcribes to text) then edits the text to be able to search for a) who to send to and b) how much to send to. Then it looks through a Google Sheets spreadsheet for the right person to send to matching their Lightning address & finally sending that amount to that person from a wallet I linked up in credentials!

I am still fairly new to it too, but I love the idea of programmable open-source internet money that has defined rules the same for everyone including censorship-resistance, debasement-resistance and not requiring going through any 3rd party intermediary such as a bank or corporation for transaction approval. I'm really glad I was able to find a way to use it in n8n! Made my day~!

I had to research it quite a bit to figure it out. The NWC node was a community node which I had to custom install. This was the most helpful if you're interested: https://getalby.com/blog/build-bitcoin-powered-workflows-with-n8n-and-nwc

Great news. Can't wait for the update. Thanks for video Ryan. Does anyone know if updating to v2 will be as simple as regular updates now: In terminal --> docker compose pull --> docker compose down --> docker compose up -d? Thanks!

1) A career goal you're working toward -- I want to learn n8n so I can complete workflows on my own without looking at or importing other experts' workflows by end of 2025 2) A personal goal that matters to you -- Cleaning and organizing the basement in particular the workshop & storage room going through all the stuff & putting in bins that are properly labeled so I'll be able to fins anything in the future -- I consider this like the analog version of n8n! :) 3) Your favorite music artist right now -- Arcade Fire

Great thanks for boosting my confidence that I can learn 80% of n8n by year end! All I meant by 'complete myself without other experts' was meaning I could visualize in my head how to tackle the problem instead of using pre-made templates which is a little bit cheating!
