I choose to
A simple exercise I encountered that really shifted my mindset, was not thinking about "having to do something", but "choosing to do something". It's surprising how much we think we have to do things, while often that is not the case. As kids, this is the space we live in. We do what parents, family, teachers tell us to do. As adults, so many of us remain in that child energy. Yet we really don't have to. The exercise is the following: - First, make a list of everything you "have" to do. - Then, copy that list and put "I choose to" in front of every item, followed by the reason you do it. What you get out of it. - Share those in the comments.

I choose to: - get up every morning, because I want to support my family and make the most of my own life - clean the mess in our house, even if is often not made by myself, because a clean house shapes a clean mind - take more care of myself, because sloppiness prepares the road for laziness which prepares the road for failure, which prepares the road for (self) rejection, which prepares the road for ...
Task Management
I'm super into productivity. So I'm always looking for better ways to organize my life and the tasks that need doing. After years and years of trying out systems and fine-tuning them. I now have one that I find super satisfying. But, there are always to improve it even more, so I'd like to hear from you men. Do you have task management system, and how do you use it? Share it in the comments.

I have more than one system, my professionzl task planner aside. There is one attached to my Outlook inbox that I share with my wife, prioritizes by colour categories in order of what to to do with it by who and in which order of urgency. Secondly there is a archive system for incoming (physical) mail, with 5 different compartments in order of when to take action or file it for a larger period. At last we have a family planner where we schedule the activities of each family member, if there is an important to do, it can also be pinned on that calendar.
Little Victories
I'm a big believer in honoring yourself as much as possible. One way I do that is by giving myself compliments for as many tasks that I do during a day, big and small. Took a cold shower? Well done Sanne! Had a good client session? Nailed it buddy! Walked home from work instead of biking? Great that you took more quiet time! Resisted sending that message to your ex? So proud of you legend! True growth is doing a lot of small things, consistently over a very long time. Since I've started complimenting myself for these small steps, I find a lot more joy in life, and it motivates me to do it even more. I'm curious to hear if you guys also do this, and what you congratulate yourself for.

Not consistantly, there is room gor improvement. Yet I do a couple of the enlisted little victory tasks, like: - cold showering (ending cold) - starting the day with a 15' meditation - often choosing to walk instead of the car (for short distances) My challenge is more in the area of personal interactions - looking other people the eye with confidence - doing small talks with people I don't know - joining a group talk in an informal setting, even with people I know During the next weeks I will try to break more out of my comfort zone and try out as much as possible the eblisted three social interactions
Your Now unfiltered
It's sometimes easy to forget the progress we've made, since the focus is most often on everything that still needs to be done. So let's take a snapshot on how your life is at this very moment, so you have something to look back to. - Take out your phone, start walking around your living space while taking pictures or a video. - Then, turn the camera to yourself. Don't clean up first, don't put on nicer clothes. Be real. What the state of things is now is likely how it often is. - Share this pictures or video in the comments. Ff this brings up resistance, you'll likely have to start making some changes.
