Voice Agent Transcriber — Which one do you use?
Hi all, I’m interested to know what transcriber you’re using for your voice agents? I’m currently running Deepgram as my provider with the General Flux English model, and I find it’s quite inconsistent when collecting the customers name. I set up a letter-by-letter system with my agents, sometimes it’s great, sometimes not so great. Interested to know what other options out there work well.

@Melody Villa Thanks Melody. I used to run Nova, for some reason VAPI has defaulted to Flux. In regards to the read back for confirmation, I find if you prompt the agent to read back letter by letter, or even with numbers when confirming a phone number, the agent will often jumble the letters and go inaudible. Do you experience this issue with your builds? I’d definitely use this route if I knew the agent would correctly say the name back letter-by-letter. For now, if the agent gets the name wrong one, I fallback to an SMS route where the agent will collect the customers name via text. I find this works well too.
Male vs Female AI Voice Receptionist
Hey all, I’m curious to know, has anyone noticed a difference in customer experiences with a male AI receptionist, compared to a female? I’ve got this idea I’ve sprung up in my head that convinces me customers are more likely to be patient, fair, and I guess understanding when they’re met with a female voice. Don’t know the psychology behind it but wanted to see what everyone else thinks.

@Melody Villa I like this view. I’ve been using male voices for my receptionists, I’m going to start implementing female ones too.

How can I customize or edit the email summary that gets sent after my AI agent finishes a call with a client?

In VAPI I know you can edit the call summary description, so it’s basically like a prompt that you’d write to format the summary how you want it. Or setup a ChatGPT module in Make or N8N that creates a summary given the call transcript, and send this through the email. Ask ChatGPT to create the prompt.
