Hey - I need your help! 👇
I’m updating the About-page banner for the community so it actually reflects the 2026 Career Battle Plan. I’ve got three options and I’d love your input. Which one would make YOU stop, click, and dive in? Drop which below + tell me why you chose it. Your feedback honestly means the world. This community is built for you, so your voice matters. Thank you 🙌

I also think 3rd is balanced best visually. First has too much text in similar size. Second too colourful.
The 10-minute rule
If the Career Battle Plan feels big, do this today: ⏱️ Set a timer for 10 minutes ✏️ Answer just one section 📌 Close it Show up again tomorrow. Consistency > intensity. Comment “10 done” when you’ve completed it.

You actually reminded me of a tip to help kids start on their homework or some other task using exactly this method. They don't have a good sense of time and something that would actually take 5 minutes can seem like an eternity for them. Setting a timer with intention that they only need to focus on the task until it goes off can help them to overcome that anxiety.
Parenting tip for less toys on the floor
My kids tidy their toys off the floor about as a quick as a turtle race. It’s always a battle and I get a little frustrated it takes so long. Today, I don’t have a lot of time so I put the Roomba on whilst they were tidying. I’ve never seen them move so fast whilst tidying. So if your kids are taking too long to tidy. Just put the Roomba on and watch them fly

On a more serious note, if I really need them to tidy up and they are not doing it I sometimes say "If you don't do it yourself I will do it for you but you are not getting the toys back". It gets little reaction until I pick up a garbage bag and start collecting the toys. Then it goes crazy fast :D I don't always do this because I understand that they are often overwhelmed by their own mess. But teaching them some logical consequences is also important, as long as they are used without threatening and manipulation.

@Dan Quinlan for that we would need Musk's full blown humanoid robot 😄 Although kids growing up feeling entitled to have their toys cleaned up by a robot is another step back for humanity 🤨
You don't have to fight everything. Just choose one battle
When I was at my lowest several years ago, I felt everything I touched turned to mold. I had gone from consecutive high performer rankings to treading water at the opposite end. I didn't get on with my boss, hated the work, my relationship with my teammates and stakeholders was poor, my weight was higher than ever. Everywhere I looked things were not good. When I finally had the realization that I needed to start improving my situation and take complete ownership the whole prospect of doing so scared me. Where do I start?? is it with my boss, my teammates, my health, my stakeholders, defining a career plan and more. What I learnt quite quickly was that to fix everything over night was impossible. I needed to take one step at a time but to ensure it was a focused step and looking at one problem at a time. For me, at that time, I needed to work on redefining who I was and what my standards are. That way I could make better decisions that aligned with that. For you it could be something else. Don't try and do too much at once. Just choose one thing and make that your priority until you are ready to move onto something else. Take the Career MRI here to help you decide what this one focus area should be. Let me know what it tells you and if you want any support in building this plan

Exactly, trying to change everything at once rarely works. Especially when you have to make it work with all the commitments that come with being a grown up 😅 Starting with a single thing and maybe even a small thing is very important. Something you know you can handle even on the hardest days. Doing it this way can build confidence and discipline for bigger challenges later on.
I hit my goal in the worst way
I moved to America 8 years ago, and about 5 years ago I reached the heaviest I’d ever been. Not unhealthy, but definitely trending in the wrong direction. Food became a comfort during the chaos of moving countries, plus the portion sizes here are meant for people who are 7ft tall and 300lbs. Over the last few years, I lost about 18lbs in a slow, sustainable way that actually made me happy. But this year? I gained 4–6lbs… mostly thanks to the obscene amount of English chocolate in our house. So I set a simple goal: lose 4lbs. This week I hit it. In fact, I lost 6lbs… In one day. Because of a sickness bug. Not quite the transformation story I had in mind. Goal achieved in the most unsustainable way possible. No celebrations happening here. But here’s the truth (haha not really, this ain’t no ChatGPT written post): HOW you achieve your goals matters more than the goal itself. So now the shift is: How do I maintain this healthily and get back on track in a way that actually feels good?

Have you ever tried fasting? I am not the expert but I listen to a lot of health related podcasts and heard it many times that weight loss should be based on fasting state, not a steady calorie deficit. These are two completely different metabolic mechanisms. If you are constantly in caloric deficit your metabolism keeps adapting and slowing down. It works in a short term but plateu is inevitable (because body adapts) and weight comes back very easily if you stop. Fasting on the other hand puts you in ketogenic state and allows the body to burn fat, clean up, recycle and heal without slowing down the metabolism. Again, not an expert but I can point you to more resources if interested :) I have tried various forms of fasting myself. I never had to loose weight but I like to experiment with it for energy levels and health :)

@Dan Quinlan I can recommend this DOAC podcast with Dr. Pradip Jamnadas: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gryta3KZKU4 Lots of great advice. Steven likes to ask questions that are understandable for a broad audience. I think I first learned about fasting from Mark Sisson many years ago. He is not very active in social media anymore, although he is still fit and healthy at 72 :) His books are also pretty good.
