I moved to America 8 years ago, and about 5 years ago I reached the heaviest I’d ever been. Not unhealthy, but definitely trending in the wrong direction.
Food became a comfort during the chaos of moving countries, plus the portion sizes here are meant for people who are 7ft tall and 300lbs.
Over the last few years, I lost about 18lbs in a slow, sustainable way that actually made me happy.
But this year? I gained 4–6lbs… mostly thanks to the obscene amount of English chocolate in our house.
So I set a simple goal: lose 4lbs.
This week I hit it.
In fact, I lost 6lbs…
In one day.
Because of a sickness bug.
Not quite the transformation story I had in mind.
Goal achieved in the most unsustainable way possible. No celebrations happening here.
But here’s the truth (haha not really, this ain’t no ChatGPT written post):
HOW you achieve your goals matters more than the goal itself.
So now the shift is:
How do I maintain this healthily and get back on track in a way that actually feels good?
