A lot of people think you need a huge budget to sell books… You don’t. If you’re willing to show up consistently, there are so many ways to get your book in front of people without spending much (or anything at all). 8 𝐖𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤 (𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐄) 👇 1. 𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐄𝐱𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 - Start with the people who already know you. Post on your personal Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn—don’t overthink it. People want to support you, they just need to know your book exists. 2. 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭-𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐦 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭 - (TikTok, Reels, Shorts)This is one of the fastest ways to get visibility right now. Talk about your book, your story, lessons from it, or even behind-the-scenes of publishing. One video can bring in consistent traffic. 3. 𝐎𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐀𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐨𝐧 𝐋𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 (SEO matters!)Amazon is a search engine. Your title, subtitle, and keywords should match what people are already searching for. This alone can bring in daily organic sales. 4. 𝐆𝐨 𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐨𝐝𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐬 - Find podcasts that align with your topic and pitch yourself as a guest. Share your story, your expertise, and naturally mention your book. This builds authority and gets you in front of new audiences. 5. 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩𝐬 & 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐆𝐢𝐠𝐬 - Look for local meetups, business groups, libraries, or events where you can speak or connect with people. Bring copies of your book or simply talk about it—real-life connections convert. 6. 𝐆𝐨 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞 & 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤 - Host a quick live training, Q&A, or story behind why you wrote the book. Lives build trust fast and give people a reason to check it out. 7. 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐎𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 - Partner with other creators, podcasters, or community owners. Do guest trainings, interviews, or shoutouts. You get in front of a brand new audience for free. 8. 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐆𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 - Offer free copies of your book (digitally or paperback) to get it into more hands. This can help spark reviews, word-of-mouth, and momentum—especially early on. You don’t need to do all 8 at once. Pick 2–3 and stay consistent… that’s where the momentum starts.

I see these come up ALL the time, and honestly, they’re the reason so many people never get started (or quit too early). Let’s clear a few things up 👇 1. “You need to be a good writer to publish a book” - Nope. There are so many types of books you can create...journals, coloring books, workbooks—and even if you do want to write, you can use AI to support the process. The real skill is choosing the right topic… not being a perfect writer. 2. “Amazon is too saturated” - Amazon is busy because people are BUYING. The issue isn’t saturation—it’s going after the wrong keywords. When you learn how to find gaps in the market, you’ll see there’s still a lot of opportunity. 3. “You need ads to make sales.” Ads are optional, not required. If your book is positioned well with the right keywords, title, and categories, it can sell organically. Ads just help you scale faster once you already have a solid foundation. 4. “You only make money from book sales”...Your book is just the beginning. It can lead to coaching, courses, communities, speaking opportunities, and more. That $15 book can turn into much bigger opportunities if you set it up the right way. 5. “You need to publish a lot of books to make money” It’s not about volume—it’s about strategy. One well-positioned book can outperform dozens of random ones. Focus on quality, research, and positioning first.
