Gold Layer Lakehouse or Warehouse?
We are architecting our data platform with Fabric. We are using medallion architecture. I have constructed the bronze and silver layer with lake houses. But I am now stuck and unclear if I should create a lake house or warehouse for the gold layer. Any advice? @Will Needham

@Pieter Human So dev-lh-bronze, dev-lh-silver, dev-lh-gold are all in a Dev Workspace and then you have QA and Prod Workspaces? @John Britto The Lakehouse devops side of things is interesting, but I guess you're right as there are no objects like you would get in a warehouse? I think a warehouse will need source control, but not sure how slick this is yet?

@John Britto Yes, but also tables etc. Could also do this for lakehouse tables I suppose . Currently we use source control for database projects, and deploy them across the environments, but it's different as it's Azure SQL.
Enterprise ETL/ELT with T-SQL (Microsoft Article)
Microsoft have dropped a pretty lengthy article today that I think many of you will find interesting: Read here: Mastering Enterprise T-SQL ETL/ELT: A Guide with Data Warehouse and Fabric Pipelines Think I might have to replicate this for a video ๐Ÿ‘€

This is BIG blocker for me ... "*Note: Currently you are not able to parameterize your connections like in Azure Data Factory, so you will need to create a connection for each source, and Fabric object." Q4 too, but we're not going to be ready until then anyway.
Local development does not seem mature.
Hi all, I have been working on a project at a startup. I just started working 2 months ago (recently graduated), and I'm the only one with techinical knowledge inside the company. I suggested we use fabric for the project my boss wanted to start (it is mostly getting data from API's/ scrapers, and then modifying it through medallion architecture). I am now facing some issues. First of all, using the web interface 8 hours a day is really tiring (and slow), especially when all debugging is done in the cloud too. The synapse extension in VSC is not working as expected for me, the spark session does not start and things like ```%run notebook_file``` don't work. Is there an alternative so that I can develop locally and push to the cloud once finished? Or can I change the way I use the synapse extension so that I can use the same code I wrote locally and push it to the cloud through the extension.

Although Fabric is GA, I would not really recommend using it in a production environment just yet unless you're in a really small company or have a limited amount of pipelines. There many many features on the way and bugs to be fixed here and there. I'm definitely not wanting to put you off Fabric, so far it does seem good, but there are far more mature and stable offerings available at the moment dependant on your use case.
Passed DP-600
@Will Needham , thank you SOOOO much for this resource, for all your videos and the time you have taken to respond. I followed your advice and did not check Learn until the end, and had plenty of time to review about 16 questions I had marked. I only got one case study, which I am thankful for! Well done to everyone that I have seen passing today too. ๐Ÿฅณ

@Will Needham Thank you! I stumbled on this last night: ๐Ÿ‘‰Beginner Power BI DAX Functions Tutorial [Full Course] (youtube.com) It's for DAX muppets like me and everything really started to click. Well not everything, but apparently enough!!! I wish I had found it earlier!
DP600 - MS Learn Question
Hi there, For those of you that have taken the exam and needed to use learn like I am definitely going to have to do can I ask for some tips? In a MS Prep video, it looks like you use the 'split screen' button in the browser. Is this correct or can you only have the exam or learn on the screen at a time? Like, could you start the exam and open Lean instantly and have it on the right with the searchbox primed and drag the width of a window? Thanks for any help ๐Ÿ˜Š

@Will Needham Yes, that makes a lot of sense. I been testing myself looking up stuff on Lean and 95% of the time is finding it and 5% getting the info. Thank you for you advice ๐Ÿ™‚

@Roxana Crisan Thank you. I used this approach and it went well. I passed! I did not have an issue with Learn crashes, but I never closed it based on what I had heard. I just shrunk the window as small as I could.
