I need Assistance
Hello everybody. I am rated 1500-1600 Elo in Lichess. I don’t play on Chess.com but i was once rated 1300-1350 best. To transfer this elo to fide it’s around 1250 which is like Beginner level In most of the games i play on 66.7-90 accuracy and generally around 70-80. I blunder around 1-2 times during every game. I try to decrease it. I play rapid 10+0. And try to solve puzzles I need some assitance for how can i improve more. I know the basics & and basic Chess Ethymology & terms. My goal is 1800-1900 elo at lichess. *Also i’m looking for chess partner or coach to play with*
I did not win. Shredder lost.
I spent most of the day reviewing the London System and watching Levy's videos on the French Defense and how to beat the London. I suppose I could have forced Shredder to play Black so I could play the London, but I most wanted to practice the French. So I left the choice as random. Shredder was White. 🙂And played d4. ☹️ I haven't studied the Dutch yet, which is my intended defense against d4. So I winged it and played something analysis calls the Barnes Defense, which I've never heard of. Shredder played horribly, and I played only a little less horribly. Shredder blundered the queen, and resigned not long after. In analysis I realized I really need to go back to study pawn play. After I learn at least a little about the Dutch. Still looking to defeat Shredder with the French before I move up to play against it at 980. https://www.chess.com/a/38DT5utHCNaTg?tab=analysis

Don’t worry you’ll get to higher levels soon But my personal advice for you that try not to know all openings. It’d be great if you know 3-5 openings. And 3-5 counterbacks. But learning every opening is a bad choice in my opinion. Try to master in an opening and learn variations 😃

@Bob Hoeppner My personal advice: try to learn Italian Gambit, Italian Gambit Fried Liver Attack, Scotch Game/Gambit, Sicilian Defense Caro Kann, Bishop Game, and King’s Defense , London Opening Those are the most played gambits. But of course the gambits, openings and the defenses that you’ve said are also great!
What’s Your Elo TEST?!
We all know we can get elo’s by playing Blitz,Rapid,Bullet and other stuff but today, i’ve found an interesting video about your elo system Link - https://youtu.be/PPWf3SdviLo - Link Check out this puzzle and find the best move for black! And learn your esitmated Elo! 🤩 Note: This is Not an ad. This is just a video that i found interesting
Sportmanship.
We may be upset when we lose a chess match, especially if we are playing on the platform. Because we are losing matches and a scoring system called elo. However, we should not forget that we play to improve in chess, not for elo. No matter how bad it is to leave early, if your opponent beats you by an overwhelming margin, it is good sportsmanship to leave with respect and decency. Have you ever seen a grandmaster not abandon after making a huge mistake and when the opponent realizes it and wins by a landslide? https://www.chess.com/live/game/119811020937

2000 Members! 🎉
We just hit 2000 members (again!) It's not really about the numbers though, it's about the quality of people here. This group is full of great, supportive players and I haven’t seen many other communities with the same positive atmosphere. Love being a part of this 🔥 P.S. Just a quick heads up — the price for our XLR8 program is going up on September 1st, so if you were on the fence now is the best time to jump in. Click here to lock in your spot now!
