Sportmanship.
We may be upset when we lose a chess match, especially if we are playing on the platform. Because we are losing matches and a scoring system called elo. However, we should not forget that we play to improve in chess, not for elo. No matter how bad it is to leave early, if your opponent beats you by an overwhelming margin, it is good sportsmanship to leave with respect and decency. Have you ever seen a grandmaster not abandon after making a huge mistake and when the opponent realizes it and wins by a landslide?
