Let's talk about
Hey girls, I'm doing research about period education. I noticed that we are from all over the world, so I would like to know if when you got your first period someone took the time to explain the whole process of it or just gave you instructions about how the use a pad? I want to know if is something about my country or something cultural. Thanks

Ou yes! It seems that this is more or less a global phenomenon. The same is true in my country, Latvia. We did have sex education at school, but it was so uncomfortable that I barely remember anything from it. My mother didn’t talk to me about menstruation, but since my period started later than it did for my classmates, I had already heard quite a lot of information through conversations with others. Still, I believe this may be changing. I can see that my adult children speak much more freely and openly about uncomfortable topics. We ourselves are becoming far more educated, and the next generation will be even more informed🙏

Hi! My name is Amanda, and I am from Latvia—a small country in the Baltic States. I am 44 years old and a mother of five children. Since my first child was born, I have devoted myself to being a homeschooling mom, creating a calm and peaceful home environment for my family. However, two years ago I decided to make a significant change in my life and enrolled at university to study psychology. Looking back, it seems that this transition may have been an unexpectedly intense source of stress for my body, because after about six months of studying, I began noticing symptoms of perimenopause. Even now, each month brings a new "surprise". For this reason, I have currently paused my studies in order to focus on restoring my health before continuing further. I am trained in fertility awareness methods, yet these perimenopausal symptoms have pushed me to go deeper—to study more, explore, and search for answers to my own questions. That is why I am here: to listen to the experiences and stories of other women. The idea that women from so many different parts of the world can meet and connect within one community feels truly fascinating to me. So this place feels like a new chapter for me to explore❤️
