AI Skill (Preview) in Microsoft Fabric
I attended the #AgentCon by Microsoft at Strathmore University, during the Data analytics breakout session, there was a demo presentation of AI Skill item introduced to Fabric three days ago. The AI skill is a cool featureโ€”it's similar to Co-pilot but answers your questions based on the data in your lakehouse and also provides the underlying SQL code, this way, you don't even need to know the tables or columns containing the data. You simply ask the AI, and it retrieves everything for you. You can also instruct it to perform specific tasks. However, I am trying to create the AI Skill item now but keep encountering an error. Is anyone else experiencing the same issue on their trial capacity? Another cool demo showcased AI Functions, which you can explore further using this link: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/fabric/data-science/ai-functions/overview. The demo used a sales sample dataset. These functions could generate a sentiment Analysis based on the customer review, fix grammar in the customer review column, translate the customer review to the specified language and more. I was amazed to see what AI can do in Fabric

Passed DP-700
Took the exam yesterday and passed with score of 795 so happy enough with that. Some the newer streaming elements were not my strongest, but pretty comfortable with a lot of the other data engineering concepts. Monitoring another area that I found I was not totally confident in. Pyspark and Kusto key function understanding is useful to know.

SQL Server database Authentication in Fabric
I am trying to get data from SQL Server Management Studio to a copy data activity MS Fabric using SQL Server database as my source but am getting an error 'invalid credentials' every time I try. I had copied the connection string from a data warehouse in fabric to create a connection from SSMS. Anyone who knows how I can easily get data to a copy data activity in fabric data pipeline from SSMS? or how to deal with the invalid credentials error?

SQL Server database Authentication in Fabric
Passed DP600
This was my first Microsoft and OnVue exam to do and am glad to share my win ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽŠ๐Ÿฅณ The exam was challenging but I did go outside the box, I couldn't accept to loose when am doing it with a voucher ๐Ÿ˜‚ I first want to thank Will Needham for all the 'gold' resources that helped me to know fabric from scratch! and the community support as well. For the exam, I spent a lot of time on the first question which was asking straightforwardly the data store to choose for a particular company's data, I spent time choosing between a warehouse and a Lakehouse since they had not specified the nature of data. For code snippets, I had several SQL questions where I had to choose from the dropdown choices between CHOOSE, IIF, COALESE, and another option which I've forgotten, This was the only question I referenced from Ms Learn. I had 4 questions from KQL and 1 PySpark and several DAX queries. Other questions were good, I enjoyed doing them because I love tricky questions which require little time to think and answer. Time is of the essence, don't spend a lot of time on one question. I saw people on the community say that time run out on them, so I was extra careful on that

@Bertan Yilmaz Thanks Bertan
Pass today but it was HARD
I scored 800 out of 1000. You only need 700 to pass. The test was HARD. There were a few topics I was not expecting and used the process of elimination and flat out guessing to answer. I have 6+ years experience in Power BI, most of which has involved managing a team of developers and most recently included role of architecting solutions in Fabric. Literally, learning on the job as I went. I had taken most of the MS Learn items that were part of the Ignite challenge earlier this summer, as well as a large portion of the learning path associated with this exam. My hands on development experience definitely helped me with the sql, dax, m code, power query, semantic modeling, and other core Power BI questions. The 6.5 hour video on this community really helped me figure out my areas of deficiency that were truly just lack of experience. Optimization was a big topic on the exam. I learned about OPTIMIZE and VACUUM from the video. I discovered I had a HUGE gap in knowledge of managing XMLA endpoints and access that I needed to brush up on. I highly recommend the Learn modules on lakehouses (there are a lot of question about them), endpoints, security, and optimization if you've experience has mostly been in development and not as much about governance or architecture planning. Anyway. I'm thankful to have found the video here because I would not have passed without watching it. I would not have had any idea the left of detail I had to know for the exam in some areas. I hope to stick around and be active in the community. fabric is ever-changing and I'm excited to be connected with people that can learn and grow together.
