Spring scents
With spring coming up soon, I’m looking to diversify my fragrances. What are some of your favorite smells around this time of year?

Premiering Camara Perfumes: El Dorado Leather Oud
This is an alternative to Dior Leather Oud (I haven’t tried it.) El Dorado Leather Oud provides a luxurious and sophisticated smelling right at the opening. The spice/sweet citrus combination offers a particular but delightful well blended aroma. As it dries down the scent tones down the citrusy/sweet nuances, making space for a well blended ambery, resinous, leathery and woody aroma. This one is definitely quite different in a very good way, and easy to wear. The oregano, incense, leather and oud notes here are not prominent, all of them figures very balanced and well blended. Projection and longevity are good. I’m really enjoying this one.

This is a dope find. So you don’t think the citrus portion is overbearing?
If You Could Any 3 Fragrances... What Would You Choose?

SOTD- Tuesday December 9th: Mancera Intense Cedrat Boise
Needs no introduction really. A citrusy, woodsy scent that is very mass appealing. Definitely more intense than the original.

How would you describe the “woodsy” part scent of it? Like red wood?
I think I have an olfactory blind spot
Guys it’s the weirdest thing, I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I love vanilla as a note, and have been searching for vanilla-forward scents to round out my cool weather collection. I’ve worked through tons of decants and even blind bought a few cheaper bottles of well regarded vanilla scents, but some of them barely register to my nose. I’ve got to think it’s the way my nose is wired because I literally get almost nothing, like I’m spraying lightly scented water on. Scents with prominent vanilla that *do* work for me: - TF Eau d’Ombre Leather, Tobacco Vanille, Noire Extreme Parfum: yep I totally get and enjoy the vanilla - JPG Le Male Elixir and Le Male Parfum, TMW, SWYI: yep totally get the vanilla, love it - Grand Soire: yep vanilla comes through love it - Vanilla extract and vanilla in foods/drinks: absolutely get and love the scent of vanilla Scents that I get almost *no* vanilla out of: - Mercedes Club Black: 16+ sprays and I get nothing but a very very subtle sense of warmth but almost no vanilla. Like, maybe I get a hint of vanilla but I’m wondering if it’s just wishful thinking - Dior Boise Talisman: same thing, a lot of sprays and I get almost nothing - Boss Exhilarating Vanilla: heavy sprays and I maybe get some woods but almost no vanilla - Spicebomb Extreme, By the Fireplace: I get zero vanilla from these. Like, zero. Like, anyone who tells me there’s vanilla in them is clearly lying. - Superz Memories Gold: I get a mildly spicy sweet caramel but zero vanilla. Like, zero. I’m wondering if there’s a particular vanilla accord that I’m completely nose blind to that is in some vanilla formulations but not others. Anyone else experience this?

The vanilla scent is a nice touch when it has the light hint. I get what you mean when some sprays are to light it doesn’t catch on. I’ve had my experience of some being over barring and smell like a tub of ice cream.
